Good ride by Atzeni on Arod, pushing Solow all the way to the line. Not a bad forecast £4.48 for the favourite to beat the third favourite. The race did not really work out how Guyon would have liked it on the favourite as he was forced to go to the front more than a furlong out and his horse just idled, allowing Atzeni back at him. There must be a Group 1 race for Arod somewhere, if he can go to France and avoid Solow!
I'm happy as a pig in **** watching Galway and the cricket as my work laptop is in for a rebuild so i'm not able to do anything. Three cheers for IT problems. I've backed Lathom each way at 8/1 in the Molecombe at Goodwood.
Big Storm Coming has chance in the next at Beverley - coming back into form and dropped in class and weight - 13/2 looks good value!!
No excuses there: King Of Rooks beaten fair and square by once-raced Kachy. Clearly the early season two year olds are not as good as might have been expected.
I think you may have reversed the result had you reversed the draw, not certainly but quite possibly as the cover the winner got made a lot of difference. I am sure I read somewhere that there was a change made that meant draw 1 would always be in the inside rail across all courses a few years back. I think it was to bypass the confusion of draw advantage between courses. By putting the stalls over the other side of the track it meant Frankie's stall one was on the outside rather than the inside.
I'm kind of with you about Lathom Bob. Not sure he'd have beaten the fav but would surely have run him close.
Yesterday's 5f race were won from stall 2 and 1 but whether the bigger field made a difference I don't know, however maybe using a differant tactic today by holding him up also may have contributed to his defeat. Should have gone straight to the front like last time. Think Hannon looked a bit peed off there too.
What is for sure is Rooks is not performing to the standard at which he made Buratino look pedestrian as even if 5lb below that run he should have won this without too much trouble,
If Frankie wanted cover there was nothing to stop him dropping in behind... According to the BHA website, the rule about stalls numbering was introduced on Wednesday 30th March 2011 and it applied to courses that were designated as “right handed” to align them with courses designated as “left handed”. It might be of interest to some folks to know that on that very same day a new rule was introduced that allowed the Stewards to declare a horse as a non runner “if a jockey is not on the horse when the stalls are released”. Now let me cast my mind back to Saturday at Ascot...
Away from the Glorious Meeting that is Goodwood... Redcar 4.40 Lovely Surprise 3-1 I still think this horse may have a little in hand from this current mark.
Gutted ...... a decent bet gone astray on Muttawafea, foiled by a 7lb claimer from an impossible position. oh well, back to the drawing board.
Dissapointing run from Alcelchi Inois, apologies lads.Thats the game we are in though, was having a good Galway up to that Inside info for Galway horse Horse punted 12s into 7/2 Horse runs like sh1te
"I'm joined here by Lily's Rainbow's trainer Sneezy Foster" Really? Sneezy Foster? Fecking brilliant, and she never said "listen" once
