Hell of a race that. Fair play to Don he finished that out not so bad (!) and a Carberry masterclass won him that. iIf only DJAKADAM would have settled, could a been a different story if he had. Not to be, but he'll be some horse next year, after all he's only 6 :)

What a super horse Don Cossack is, he should be favourite for the Gold Cup next year after that

What a super race. This Don Cossack is something else. Certainly won't desert Road To Riches next season, light-framed but top class, just needs decent ground. <ok>

Could have a point Shergs, that was an outstanding Grade One. Cheltenham GC 2nd, 3rd, 26l Melling Chase winner and last years race winner. Safe to say thats strong form and looking at how Don C won you could argue that was a better race than the Cheltenham race. If you'd a backed Don Cossack ante post for the Cheltenham race you must really be thinking a case of what might have been :)

8/1 for the first string of Mullins! I still think if I'd to choose one of Mullins I'd have backed Pylon the pressure but no doubt Paddy made the right decision today. Ted Walsh is giving out like mad on Rte over lads doubting Paddy...calm down Ted. One swallow doesn't make a summer.

Was I imaging things in the bumper or did Nina make sure her horse gave Modus a couple of bumps about four out?

No, I agree. Ted was just getting a bit carried away about a not so big deal. Basically calling the betting public a bunch of idiots. Hindsight is a great thing.

Totally agree Bob, all you have to do is look at Don Cossacks form figures this year, and it's win after win. Obviously the one blip came at Cheltenham, but there where valid excuses for him that day. He made an error 3 out, which left him further back than ideal, and then when he was coming with his run he got sandwiched between 2 others at a fence. I think even despite the error 3 out, he'd of got to Uxizandre had he got a clear run. I kept faith after losing out at Cheltenham, and it's payed dividends twice now.

How Brian Cooper could choose not to ride a 26 length melling chase winner is beyond me <laugh>

I also think he beat Djakadam with a lot more authority than Coneygree did. So he has to be favourite for next year. Il certainly be looking to back him nearer the time anyways

I think there are just as good young jockeys on the scene other than cooper, seen him misjudge a few races now.im not saying the lad is talented but i didn't think gtown made the right decision jacking off Davy at the time

Well I mean more in the sense of him getting the choice wrong on a few so far, but it happens. It could be the making of him even given he responds in a postitive way. He's a good jockey.

Lol ste, you gave me a nightmare thought of Mick O' Leary and Davy Russell there god damn you!

Surprised if Ben Pauling would take this horse over if he didn't think it had a decent chance!

Good to read Limato had a nice win today after too, I didn't get to watch it but will have a goosey gander later there. Henry Candy was obviously just playing him down purposely then. James Doyle reckons he needed the blow out too and should improve a heap for it.

Look forward to him at Ascot I assume?
