Opting for each way thievery today at Punchestown.
Cue Card @14s in the big un. Sentiment and hope over expectation.
High Stratos @ 50s in the novice staying hurdle. Has it all to do on the ratings but this one caught my eye a year ago at this meeting when winning a bumper in convincing style. I don't think we've seen the best of him yet.
Orpheus Valley @ 20s in the handicap chase. Won this last year and lines up today with less weight.
    Good luck all.
Finally Gauvain over at Cheltenham in the lucky last. I saw this one get the better of Khyber Kim in a good scrap at Eyton on Easter Monday. Showed he still retains some ability and zest for the game. Win at 11/2. Good luck all.

Very fair and insightful assessment again Bluesky. The two reasons for not running today were the uncertainty of "getting in" and the concern about letting a kid on him in a twenty runner race. I am sure he would have gone close today. Ascot would suit his style with the straight mile seeming ideal.

In fairness to Michael he can only judge the horses on what they do at home. The one you refer to has been working with a consistent 70 rated performer and finishing upsides. As the horse is off 58 he really had to be fancied. You can only go on what you see at home but they don't always transfer that to the track.
If SQUIRE ever runs to his work form I will be a very happy man but as I keep telling everyone, at home he and his workmate are the only two on the track. Nothing to get in his way, no kickback, no distractions and crucially nothing in front of him that he is desperate to get in front of!

Forgot to say well done on the win with Squire Stick, I did say 67 would have been a fair mark for him!

Horse my uncle is involved in just sneaked into the Kentucky Derby, Keen Ice, hes in with a few, including Puca who runs in the Oaks, but he always said Keen Ice was the one they really liked. It looks the best Kentucky Derby since 2007 and American Pharoah could be something special, but ive had a little on Keen Ice at 66/1 here and will probs have a few dollars on him again in Vegas, its a huge buzz for them just to get in the race and will be mayhem if he runs a race.

In today’s ‘Weekender’ both Pricewise and Simon Holt go in big time for Sean Bowen re the 2016 NH saddle monkeys championship at 25/1. Quite surprised that price remains after their unadulterated buoyancy and decent arguments.

I actually think the old boys could have a point and think the title will ultimately, barring that cruel mistress injury of course, come down to a match between the Bowen boy and dear old Dickie.

Don Cossack for me today, i dont think a Cheltenham Gold cup will be to his liking but 3m 1f here should be within his reach, his win at Aintree was simply stunning and he seems to appreciate better ground.

Gay Kelleway will be fuming at Pontefract as Jimmy Quinn has just won on an unraced 25-1 shot for her, beating a highly regarded odds on shot of John Gosden and a well fancied Chappel-Hyam runner. Kelleway loves a nice touch and clearly this horse has now gone in unbacked to any real money, and also likely be allotted a very cautious mark by the handicapper to boot. It's a shame as small yards like that cannot waste ammo in such ways in my view.

Would not be at all surprised to see LOG OUT ISLAND back at Ascot for a crack at one of the big juvenile races, very taking performance!

Beware the second strings lol Had a decent bet on DJAKADAM here. Don Cossack not a guaranteed strong stayer, Road to Riches didn't want the rain, Cue Cards gone at the game, Ballynagour looks the danger but mightn't a wanted rain either.

I just don't see how DJAKADAM doesn't win (though no doubt I'll soon find out lol) :)
