This is my last day at the coalface, prior to the Easter break, so now also seems like the ideal time to wish everyone, and I do mean everyone, a very Happy Easter. Therefore, Happy Easter, say I.
As an Easter present, for the regular readers, here are a couple to look out for from the Lieutenant’s barn. (i) Kilcrea Vale has slipped to a lenient looking perch of 135 and really should now be capable of winning – and if in the right frame of mind winning doing the proverbial handstands! A few have questioned his commitment and attitude, in his time, but Kilcrea Vale still has some very good form to his name and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see a rejuvenation occur in Plumpton’s rich ‘Champion Chase’ on Easter Monday. If he misses that heat still one to look out for off 135. (ii) And an unraced one owned by the 11th richest man in Wales, New Moon. The dam is a full sister to the Grade 1 winning chaser, Nickname, and also a half-sister to a dual Group 3 winner on the flat. This 4YO, who cost €115,000, should be up to winning a bumper very shortly and could, in time, be graded class.
And until the next time…take care, people.
