Morning, morning. Saw a bit of the Gooders coverage yesterday and putting my milliners hat on, for a moment, the 2 most impressive pieces of head wear belonged to the lovely, and I do mean lovely, Ems Spencer and the forum’s favourite trainer, Mr Henderson. It takes a special sort of chap to look anything other than a total twit in a Panama and Mr Henderson is one such special chap.

Onto today and in my view the action is indeed ‘Glorious’. In the ‘Gordon Stakes’ (2.35) expect ULYSSES, one of the best bred animals in training, to get his career back on track following a below par effort in the Derby. I can only see the ‘Sussex’ (3.10) going the way of old boy THE GURKHA. I can see him righting his last 2 defeats (for which genuine excuses exist in each case) and grabbing the big ‘un. Whilst, in the ‘lucky last’ (5.25) one really can’t see beyond AFJAAN. His effort on his seasonal bow looks extremely good now as the filly who just got the better of him (when she was in receipt of 12 lbs) that day won a Listed affair last week. On that run a perch of just 89 makes Afjaan appear a huge blot on the old handicap.

    Good luck, all.

Quick competition for the Daily Thread before racing starts in earnest. What might the forum's favourite trainer be saying to HM Queen in the picture below?

    My starter for 10:

NH: "Geld him ma'am and send him novice hurdling".
HMQ: "I don't think I can do that with my husband Sir Nicky, you're such a wag"

I don't have anything worth putting up today as a bet. Good luck with your selections chaps. Best of luck.

    G'day mates :)

Having done my dough on Ulysses the Useless in the Derby, I'm hoping to win it back today, plus a bit more for good measure! I have a good feeling that Wind Place and Sho is better than his bare form in the opener at Gooders and 12-1 is a solid gold ew.

I'm taking Awtaad out of my comp selections and replacing with Galileo Gold. I have already backed Awtaad so too late to retract that, but on reflection, I think this race will go to a GG :D

Percy Veer. 2.00. Looks like an out and out stayer to me and likes the ground.

    Ulysses.2.35. Comes of age today.

Awtaad.3.10. Good price. Nothing to find with the top 2 in the market.

    Yalta. 3.45. 5f to suit.

    Good luck all!

Off horsey topic, sorry, my team (Celtic) play at 3pm in a qualifier for the Champions league, I fear we are going to get stuffed, as in 3-0. (is it rude to back against your own team as with have no defence and Ambrose is playing YIKES?)

Good luck all today, fancy the gurkha mseself.

Awtaad 6/1 - Goodwood 3.10 trusting the ground is good to firm as I can't see any other description. Awtaad can turn things around once more with GG and hopefully beat the Gurkha here. Win bet for me but I wouldn't put anyone off the each way option as insurance.

NH: I'm sorry to hear mam that your enjoyment of the not606 horse racing forum is being spoilt by a correspondent who regularly trashes you as a benefits parasite. I know he pledges faithful allegiance to me but I've no idea who it is.
Her Maj: Don't worry Nicholas the bastards banned me last weekend.

Really looking forward to the racing this afternoon. The clash of the Guineas winners at Goodwiod and the Galway Plate. Marvellous. I've had a bit on last years winner Shanahan's Turn @ 14s and Ravished @ 33s in the Plate. I hope Galileo Gold prevails at Goodwood. Good luck all.
