He should have started him in the next race - it would have made it more interesting. Shocking Grade 1.
Burdett Road N/R. Hiding my disappointment stoically. We might see a Triumph Hurdle market move nevertheless if Sir Gino can hose up at Kempton next.
I find 97.8% of horses ridden by N.De Boinville jump like that. Hard to fathom he gets to race ride for such a powerful yard.
In the (15:40) finalé at Kempton, a Class-2 Mares' Handicap Hurdle over an extended 3m on good-to-soft ground, the progressive Geordieland mare, Lassue, really catches the eye. Talented conditional, Jack Hogan (3), on board for the Fergal O'Brien yard. 11/2 (Wm.Hill/Ladbrokes) about the best price at time of writing.
Excellent. I was a bit nervous because it took too long to show up. I'm going to watch the race now. My 4/1 for the Arkle since June now tastes like glory.
I think he is a good jockey (he gave Coneygree a belter to win the Gold Cup) but not sure he is the best at educating a young horse. Look at the ride Jacob gave Intelloto - that was class on a young horse.
I have never watched a race of his and went "he did well to win that" I think he gets a rake more beat than he wins on anyway. Just my opinion of course. Jockey's will always have there to and for but I am usually fairly reserved in ever judging them as it is such a tough job, but NDB would be among the worst I have ever seen riding at that level.
Canny believe you deserted Nassalam Swanny. Was an abosulte banker on his win in trials day there in the mud.
On ground he wouldn't have appreciated much either today. He'll need to let the others go a Furlong ahead on the day to make it even
Remember you put him on here last time and when I saw your post today I was quite surprised as I felt he would be an easy winner of the race once jumping around. Is he the easiest winner of this in a long, long while? You would have to assume so.
in seriousness though, good to see the trainer using common sense and pulling it out. A speed horse could have been ruined on that ground today. I think we’ve seen a potentially special UK debutant at Kempton today for the juveniles, but I’d want to see him out again in better company before the festival.
I think it is perfect what he has done. The trainer believes (whether he is right or not) that he has a horse capable of winning at Cheltenham, and he is protecting him. Obviously my opinion is biased, but a horse that comes from the flat is less used to that kind of ground.
