The Frankel camp have missed a trick not stepping up to 10f sooner - because they won't have time to also step up to 12f. Today was a waste of time. I'm confident he'll win easily over 10f against anything going. With his full brother looking like a St Ledger type there's every chance Frankel might actually get 12f but we'll never know and that, to me, is a great shame. Yes today was impressive but he beat sweet f a and i'd much rather see the beast's limitations tested, would be much more informative.

Cheers RV - I have just watched the race back, and I'd give Ghurair another chance, ran green again, but finished strongly. May not be Guineas worthy, but worth a bob or two of Reebok Rubles <laugh>

Just got back from Goodwood. He was, as ever, utterly sublime. He was the most relaxed and switched off I've seen him on the racecourse. Here's hoping it's a good tonic for Sir Henry.

I'll put up some photos later.

I thought GHURAIR was a little too keen and then somewhat green today. Finished better than all except the winner today and will be better next time over a mile. Too early to give up on him..........unlike Maxentius who was a stone cold last!!!!

He was okay Stick. Cut the winner up twice about 2-3 out though. I thought Hannons won cosily and that troubled passage obviously didn't help. Ghurair shouldn't have been in this race IMHO. History has proven they need more experience to win it. I think there's every chance he'll progress to be either the best or second best horse from that race.

Ladbrokes have just cancelled my bet on Kathleen Hersey for the womens butterfly due off in two mins without even calling me. Surely thay cannot do this as I backed her before the semi finals.
