Clarkey has won the corresponding 4.40 at Listowel for the past two years, once off a 5lb higher mark and once off todays weight. Interesting for any who follow horses for courses. Toomdeeley also won at this fixture last year on similar ground.
Late jockey change Fallon for Jones THEY knew, improving filly, keeping ahead of the handicapper. Dannios ran as the drift suggested, THEY knew, couldnt lay enough of it.
Got to watch the Dannios race again. Race may not have suited those coming from off the pace but I have to watch it a few more times. 5.05 Sandown Alice's Dancer 16/1 NB Can't quite understand the price of William Muir's 3 year old and I think this filly will run a very big race if staying the mile which I think she has a very good chance of doing. Her past 5 starts read 12216 with her last race a very decent 3L beaten 6th at Salisbury off this mark earlier this month over 6f. I think she was a bit unlucky that day as she raced far side whilst those who were to the fore at the finish were all racing towards the stand side. Regardless, she was doing all her best work at the end of the very competitive looking Class 2 handicap which looks potentially a very hot race with the 2nd Valencha (only horse in front of Alice's Dancer to come out subsequently) has run an excellent 3rd in a Group. 2 starts back Alice's Dancer won in taking fashion to assert close home to when landing a 7f Class 3 event at Newmarket off a 3lb lower mark in August. In a meddling 5 runner affair, they went pretty slowly early on but picked up the pace with about 5f to go and Alice's Dancer came with an excellent late rattle to win by 3/4 of a length. Today Alice's Dancer drops back to a Class 4 event and given that she won a Class 3 and was competitive in a Class 2 in her previous two efforts I just can't understand why she is 16/1 as this race looks easier than her latest assignments. She has shaped on occasion as she would appreciate the step up to a mile but I am slightly concerned that she may not stay it but thats factored into the price I suppose. Stevie Donohoe takes the ride and has a good record on Alice's Dancer having a win and 2nd in his two starts on her. With a good draw from stall 4, I think Alice's Dancer looks very overpriced and I think she could definitely run a big race.
Love a bit of turf goss. Seems to be a lot of broken marriages/relationships amongst the racing fraternity...probobly no more than society in general, just that they seem to resonate more with racing followers. Wonder has any trainer ever ran off with someone of the same sex...
Just what I got told, and it was backed up by the betting, I didnt touch the race. Obviously she has managed to overcome Eddie Ahern in a weak maiden despite needing the experience, probably half decent but nothing special.
Eddie: Might be a good idea to cut the 'Prophet' bit for the time being; not a particularly good idea at the moment?
whys that? My last 5 double lock leather briefcase jobs have won. 5 in a row kid. If you want to show Prophet bet with the Prophet
