Sandown 4.35 Come On Blue Chip 6/1 Yarmouth 4.20 Shenas Dream 3/1 5.25 Arch Villain 5/2 Kempton 6.45 Dr Houseman 5/1 7.15 Better Be Mine 9/2
Evening Joe Rebecca Romero 2.20 Sandown- very unlucky loser on Saturday. I expect this one to win tomorrow 100/3-
Day off work so might put a lucky 15 on for a bit of casual fun. One I like is Colour Guard for the Mark Johnston team on the quick ground over at Yarmouth. Think if it gets out front they won't catch it- been running really well lately and going unpenalised. Timepiece has a great chance of mopping up the listed Yarmouth event at 3.15 and at 5/6 looks like one to double up. Lionheart has a good chance at Yarmouth and the form os the Sandown 8th is excellent. Shade unlucky last time out. Elidor would be my idea of a surprise in Sandowns nice 2.50 maiden. A Derby entrant with enough speed in the pedigree to be of interest starting off at the mile (by Cape Cross) out of the dam of Irish Derby winner and Epsom runner up Treasure Beach. Very interesting pedigree for Mick Channon to have got his hands on, and he starts him off in warm company here. One to put in the notebook.
Morning, all. Am waving the old ‘no bet’ banner this morn but its quite a nice days action with Listed heats at both Sandown Park and Great Yarmouth. The best horse on display though today may be Montridge in the Conditions contest at the Esher venue (3.25) however at odds of 4/6 I won’t be getting involved. Talking of that Yarmouth Listed heat (3.15) I see that Firdaws, who this time last year was rumoured to be the reincarnation of Pegasus, is available at 18/1. If you would have suggested such a possibility 12 months ago you probably would have been Sectioned as there was talk of Classic glory for the filly who’s dam and granddam both the Oaks (and the granddam the 1,000 as well). It looks though that Firdaws simply hasn’t trained on. Anyone got any thoughts on Saturday’s big sprint handicaps at Ayr by the way??? The Gold, Silver and Bronze events that really matter this summer. As I said last week Cheveton’s the one that I’m keen on. He won the ‘Bronze Cup’ in 2010, the ‘Silver Cup’ in ’11 and is now on a lower mark than in both of these races. Plus, his last 4 wins have been in the month of September and he showed a nice return to form in old Wales on Sunday. Interesting with a capital 'I', methinks.
Likely to be too short a price for my tastes, but the 7.45 at Kempton this evening (a 2yo Fillies Maiden) sees the racecourse debut of HOT SNAP, a Pivotal half-sister to Midday. I was told very nice things about her work on the gallops some months ago but she has obviously had problems to keep her from making her debut till now. Whatever happens, she'll certaily be one to watch.
A great pictured tweeted by "horse whisperer" Gary Witheford this morning, titled "the first uncooperative client of the day"! Gary Witheford works for many racing clients and, amongst his many claims to fame, backs John Oxx's yearlings every year.
morning guys and gals, 1 from my alerts is FLASHBANG 9.15 kempton...cant remember why doh!! any thoughts would help, but im going ew just to be safe. good luck if you play
I'd love to know what he whispers to them. If it were me I would be shouting "get down you f***ing thing"
Hall Of Mirrors will not get many easier chances than the opener at Listowel. Was tempted at Evens but decided against it as he hasn't looked the most straight forward so far.
Afternoon RV,. You well? I did Hall Of Mirrors and thought I had it turning in as looked like going the best. Yes good form for the actual winner. Wish had left it alone!
Yeah fine Ollie - and yourself I would have backed Halls Of Mirrors but after watching replays of previous runs I decided against it. Doesn't put it all in when asked for effort.
