afternoon all I have purposefully stayed away from the big meeting as the forum is full of info yesterday saw some good opportunities elsewhere which payed well today however is worse there are 2 I fancy but I will see how the first goes 520 Hamilton 5/1 looks way to big on Joshua the first ew as usual 2places quarter odds so not the best in value but stands a good chance to outrun the bookies odds as usual good luck all
Think its safe to blame Spencer there. I've no idea what he was thinking. Even though most winners have come far side, he decides to bring him near side which would have lost him a few lengths. Then goes for a non existent gap on the rail when travelling incredibly well and ran on when his chance was gone. That's quite annoying. Watching the replay again, I'm pretty convinced Educate would have gone ridiculously close had Spencer kept him far side.
Well, ROTO, Educate really did have a first class chance in this, But the Hunt Cup is a right bloody lottery, always was. Brave of anyone to put up a horse in this sort of handicap. Spencer, well, he does seem to do more things wrong than he does right. Unlucky with Educate, must say. Also, did you see what Hughes did with his horse? Pulled violently left and then ran behind a wall of horses and never could get through.
I agree ROTO, A place at least by the way he ran on when Spencer pulled him out. I know I will be getting boring now but the guy has regressed to his worst after redeeming himself for a good while. He has Beldale Memory up next however which must give him a great chance of a winner, given the choice I would rather see Dickie Hughes hopping aboard at the moment. I did see that as well SwanHills, not Hughes finest moment either. I agree it is a tough race which means the margin for error is greater and the need of luck greater, but this also means the need to try and be clever and out think yourself should be resisted and keep it simple, if it does not work out at least get beat due to bad luck or not being good enough. Spencer makes so much of his own luck, sadly all of it bad.
Yeah **** happens Swan. There will be plenty more days with him and I expect him to be kept over 10f from now on which will suit. Just frustrating when your jockey gives you no run for your money on a horse I strongly suspect would have won.
Is Spencer retained Jockey for that ownership? Would like to have seen that lad Thomas Brown on, handy 5lbs aswell
Yep, having said all that about Spencer, will have first bet of day on Beldale Memory in the next at Ascot. Maybe, who knows?
Not as far as I know Tward, Ismail Mohammed made a conscious choice to put Spencer on in a big field. Thomas Brown is riding at Kempton, I think he will be a good Jockey in time, certainly going the right way.
Last chance saloon has arrived and given Montiridge's performance earlier I'm placing my children's inheritance on Mango Diva at
3rd and 4th for ew money, Nargsy looked class 2 out, thought he was gonna win but left himself too much to do.
