My recent poor form should really discourage me from parting with my hard earned ( sigh ) cash, but for a Wednesday there's too much temptation! Given that I'm in my usual 'Bangalore Buddy Big Up' conference call, I somehow find myself distracted by racingpost.com on my 'phone, funny that. So, here's my few to avoid. At Cheltenham, 2 really appeal to me, namely Ozzy Thomas (3.50) and Tal Badalandabad (4.25 ). At Newmarket, over and above the competition picks, I was drawn to Billesdon Brook(3.35) but it is drifting dramatically at the mo so perhaps not. I'm going to have a little go with Finniston Farm for 'The Dasc' in the 2.25. In the build up to this year's May Day Out, I'm keeping a close eye on the form of 'Friendless Fahey' today too. ( Look what's up for sale, the farm just round the corner from me, where the kids love to watch the horses http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-64361827.html " There is a all weather floodlight menage, hot shower room, hay shed, log store and wooden stabling offering altogether 17 stables with own private lock-ups, there is also space to increase the number of stables within the existing buildings, 3 grass paddocks and a sand paddock. " )
Same as - would usually have a good be more on one from Chelsea dating back to Litigant. But looked at the race and hard to be confident of placing. Put it in an e/w lucky 15 with Traffic Fluide, Mister Miyagi and Crystal Lad
mine were more exotic , quite by chance , on fire and broad appeal at kempton , those last two have more than halved in price ........bethel and portman both known for gambles , not always successful though .....
Did mine last night(not using internet any more to restrict myself) and had picked out Qualando but during 2FM interview, the interviewee used Mister Miyagi "wax on , wax off" reference so changed to Mister Miyagi - shows how much thought I put into the selections.
Cheltenham 2.05 DIESE DES BIEFFES 7/4 Been well backed.5yo was 5th in the Martin Pipe at the Festival where a mistake at the last didn’t help his cause.Think this better ground will suit. Also had a little e/w on the Hobbs horse GOSHEVEN who I had in my tracker.
Newmarket 2.25 GREAT PROSPECTOR 10/1 Caught the eye on seasonal reappearance at Newcastle when a staying on 5th behind Gronkowski(the 4th Purser won yesterday).Close up 3rd behind Gustav Klimt here in a grade 2 last year and is very closely matched with the top two in the betting Nebo and Hey Jonesy yet is twice their odds.Looks the value in this.
Anna Cerium 25/1 wins by 4 lengths. Bollux I knew i knew the name from somewhere, beat Eirene by a neck last year in a big Salisbury race
Cheltenham 2.40 two against the field: CEPAGE 8/1 won with bit up his sleeve the last day and a tracker horse KNOCKGRAFFON 16/1.
Cheltenham 3.15 taken two against the field, both nicely weighted and come into this fresh: CARLOS DU FRUITIER @ 25/1 RED TORNADO @ 33/1
