About the most stupid comment I've read all year on this part of the forum. What in Christ has this got to do with Gatsby beating Australia? If you can't win like a gentleman, then just shut up, salmon.
Geez calm down old boy, was merely made as the nightmare deja vu vision of the Gatsby chinning Aussie last year loomed very large in the last 50yds! It was like history repeating itself, hence the direct referral Please accept my humblest apologies Swanny, I'm so sorry if my comment upset you or anyone.
Dermot Weld is renowned for readying them 1st time up, you should know that seeing as your apparently such a fan. His horses don't usually need the run
OK Shergy, no point labouring this anymore! I'm sure they'll meet again over the summer and we'll get our answer then. BTW I'd be pissed too if I was on Gatsby too, nothing against the horse or connections. He was unlucky today, let's see a rematch with no boxing in this time! Not sure why you say I'm 'such a fan', I back him at Galway like everyone does, but not sure that makes me a superfan but I've always liked Free Eagle and felt him missing last season was a big loss as he's proved today he's top class.
Why was it revenge for Australia, Weld probably cheered more than anyone when O'Briens hot pot was chinned
I have nothing against Free Eagle, he's a good horse, just don't buy that the best horse won today. A rematch will definately be interesting
Nice one Beefy A big advantage to be drawn low from what i can see! Spencer the muppet on another unlucky loser. Just ashame it wasn't Spencer who fell off
Was pure luck Shergy, simply scanned through them cos I'd a free bet and knew GM had a few 'interesting' rides, say no more. I've been lucky this last 2 races, but hey I'll take it makes up for the times I'm second Another free bet now
That horse might end up quite something if they can teach him to calm down. He was pulling for his head again in the first 2f and yet he was coming through on the bridle like a knife through butter at one stage. Met all sorts of trouble and thats about my luck on the old nags at this stage. He is bred for much further and I think you got a glimpse of his talent today because if he has the speed for pretty high level 7f races, if he can settle and mature into that frame of his then he may yet make a lovely 4 year old over 10f.
If there's cut in the ground for the Irish Derby, I'd have a small bet on him. The gradients of Epsom never suited him at all.
Having me a flutter on Kodiva in the Sandringham. Still a maiden, this will be her 2nd black-type race in 4 starts which I think gives you some indication of the regard in which she is held by Charlie Hills. 3rd to Irish Rookie in a good listed race when last seen, she goes straight in for this at Royal Ascot when an easy maiden win could have been on the cards, and she will love the quicker ground. A saver on Lovely Surprise, who should travel well into the race for the ambitious Ismail Mohammed, who ROTO did so well with when following Educate a season or so ago.
