I wrote in the preview evening: "I’m just not totally convinced about Yanworth, the ground was very testing when he won on trials day and his price is very short. If Yorkhill turns up it could be a really good race, I also like Long Dog and I think he’ll take his chance here. At the current prices, I’ll go for Long Dog at around the 10/1 mark." Mullins just said they went Neptune with Yorkhill because he thought Altior better than Yanworth. Who'd have believed that a couple of days ago?
Yanworth did track slightly wide but was beaten cosily enough. Maybe he ran a bit flat or was outsprinted on the better ground...I can't think of an excuse atm. Interesting to hear what connections have to say. Two lovely types going forward.
