That probably told us more about his stamina than his speed though didn't it? Won in a hack canter and could've gone round again so will definitely get the Neptune trip BUT we still don't know whether he has a change of gears.
Machine? He beat a horse who was having an easy race pre festival. It was very good but still have some doubts.
He has gears to spare Oddy I think. Travels as well as anything I've seen. Love it how BG takes a pull after the last. Made reasonable horses look distinctly ordinary.
Ladbrokes and Sky Bet have shortened Simonsig to 5/1 for the Supreme BUT Billy Hills have cut him to 6/1 for the Neptune.
So the Supreme Novices favourite beats a 3 mile chaser over 2.25 miles and is apparently now a machine... <beeforsalmonshakeshisheadindisbelief>
Nass you are never happy - yet you praise a 1/5 shot and back him for the foxhunters run on briefcase it is a machine based on its previous run as well you nackers
RV I wasn't having a go, I just think any Supreme candidate would have been done the same. Knockara Beau to be fair is a chaser who looks at times like he finds even 3 miles too short for him...Just my opinion!
You've got to shorten him for anything he could possibly turn up for after that Oddy. Defo a Supreme horse. They'll run scared of Boston Bob.
RV, its mad to get over excited by that race, if he had done it at Kempton on Friday against novice hurdlers I would be more impressed. I thought it was impressive, but I am not going to claim he is a monster on the form of a Kelso race. Add in Cloudy Lane isn't a monster, never claimed he was, but do claim he is a good EW bet in the Foxhunters. Its just about degrees of impressiveness that I don't get.
Beefy I'm just messing mate respect your's and even briefcases opinion. Nass what about travelling all over Fingal Bay (fair enough Fingal Bay was class and outbattled him ) but Barbatos 17 lengths back in third ? he is a perfect SN horse
I recall Henderson saying "Wednesday's race will tell us where to ge with him" - it's got to be the Neptune for me. As well as he travels, I honestly don't believe he has a change of gear. We saw it against Fingal Bay and, in a different way, we saw it again today - he cantered to the line, didn't show us any sort of acceleration (obviously because he didn't need to). He may stay on past beaten horse up the hill in the Supreme but the real good ones will have kicked away from him. Just my opinion mind
LAST INSTALLMENT out of Chelt festival after suffering injury during last Sundays win - ffs feel sorry for backers of him
and now we have the clash - Fairyhouse & Southwell - jesus they could've held one of the races for 5 mins
RV, I am wary as Hendo has so many options available for the novice hurdle sphere. He does look an ideal candidate but he also looks one who could win a Neptune too. I think he is a stayer in the making, he doesn't seem to be your typical two mile hurdler to me. That said, he does remind me of last seasons Supreme winner in many ways.
