Biggest price for me for a horse on here is 25s,small fish indeed.i did put up a nice footy bet a few years back that came in-Man city to beat utd 1-0 and Vincent Kompany to score first, was a very tasty price.didnt old boy Galaxy put in a huge greyhound treble a few years back, wonder how he is getting on these days, very likeable poster. That York card is filthy difficult, seeing as I'm off work I might try and have a go at C4 races for the craic
Like a few on here today I am very keen on the chances of Lucky Kristale today. Drops back down to 6 furlongs which was always going to be her trip. They messed about with her far too much last year. She was one of my favourite horses in training as a two year old and if she can come back to that sort of form then she should be able to rout this field. Had a good opening run and should be primed for today at a course she does well at.
Decided to have a go at the York card small stakes and placepot: 2:10 - Tres Coronas 2:40 - Kickboxer 3:15 - Muthmir 3:45 - Star of Seville 4:20 - Swift Emperor 4:50 - Dheban/Black Magic 5:20 - Ribblehead
Let's have a bash at this durtay big runner card at York 2.10 chancery/field of fame 2.40 bogart/mass rally 3.15 mutmhir 3.45 together forever 4.20 foreign diplomat/king to be 4.50 black magic 5.20 Libran/seamour
Mahsoob won a shade cosily in the opener at York! I wonder what price it was in running? I doubt he'll run in any more handicaps! Wouldn't be surprised if he wins a Group race this season.
Yeah took a while for him to get a clear run. Lucky there was enough time for him to catch the leader. John Gosden says they will go for the Hardwicke with him next, as he looks like a mile and a half would suit him better
Gina - well done Frankie, very impressive'. Eh? Won by a short head having looked to run out of fuel or idled. Either way it was anything but very impressive. What's the selection criteria for Channel 4's racing presenters?
Yep these 20 odd runner short sprints are a bookies benefit shergy, defo not my cup of tea.i'm more of a jumps man but do like the irish flat as I get passed some good info.there are so many trainers/meeting on the English flat I find it a lot harder to find winners but I'm sure there are those on here who relish it!each to their own, that's what the forums about
It's really about managing what you follow Ste, if you try to follow everything in the UK, you'll come unstuck. The Irish is probably easier to follow as there's a lot less of it. Sometimes it's best to split the UK racing into Northern and Southern tracks, and follow one more than the other
It was a Group 2 race so it was a bit of a turn up. The favourite (handicapper turned pattern horse with big reputation but the trainer saying it would need the race) ran too freely and my choice Astaire sulked because he wants to be in the van. The fact that you could throw a blanket over the first half dozen suggests that the form will not be worth following.
4.55 New TRUE PLEASURE to get some shackles back for a few over at NAAS later. Don't normally look at the irish racing but could be a couple that win, if anyone has any views on them? 5.35 NAAS SPECIAL FOCUS 3/1. Good run lto but trainer/jockey have won this race for the last 2 years but more so 5 out of last 7. 6.05 NAAS ARGENTERO 10/11. Won fto and again trainer/jockey won this race last year. 7.05 NAAS PLEASCACH 11/10. Came 2nd lto but had Cheshire Oaks winner Diamondsandrubies behind in third.
For the girls, being reasonably fit is probably the main selection criteria. Frankie reckoned that the winner idled in front, which may be the case, but as the runner-up was giving her four pounds and the maiden race winner finished a close third, it looks like another Classic trial that has told us very little. It looks like we are down to the Lupe and the Irish 1000 Guineas for any clues to a definite Oaks candidate. As the 1000 Guineas – Oaks double is the most commonly achieved, it is no surprise that Legatissimo heads the market currently. This time tomorrow we might be thinking that 2/1 “the (un-named) Dante winner to win the Epsom Derby” was a decent bet...
In William Hill at lunchtime they were offering 11/10 any horse that runs in the Dante to win the Epsom Derby and 2/1 the (un-named) Dante winner to win the Epsom Derby. Obviously you could also name a Dante winner and get better odds on the specific double.
