Well done Yorkies and Cats....first bet of the week on that..lovely prospect for next year in all aged group races.
The Betfair Supports Spinal Research Handicap Hurdle at Wetherby was declared a void race. A yellow flag, which denotes a stopped race, was waved by a course official after Ashburton Lad was pulled up on the flat along the first circuit, having broken a leg. Most of the jockeys in the race carried on, though, with Cunning Clarets, ridden by Brian Hughes, first past the post. Sky Bet are still paying out on the winner. from sporting life
Nine riders banned after Wetherby 3.25 for not stopping after the yellow flag was raised,Hughes,Mcoy, and Lee were among the nine, all were handed 10 day bans
From RP - Tony McCoy, Brian Hughes, Brian Toomey, Jonathon Bewley, Alexander Voy, Graham Lee, Paddy Brennan and Danny Cook will be out of action from October 26 to November 4.
Southern based chaps gonna miss the valuable United House meeting at Ascot...everybody concentrating on the new whip rules and forgot the basics!
Anybody watch that race at Punchestown?..Mark Walsh obviously practising for the advent of the total whip ban. I stopped backing this guys mounts about 18 months and this was another howler...right up there with his Wise Old Owl ride at Galway last Autumn. At least R Hills steered the site nap home today!!
top northern jocks and the champ banned from the charlie hall,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, gave that a lot of thought then stewards at wetherby from what i know the horse in question that broke down was not on the track, access for the vet and owners not restricted no one wants to see the stars of the show hurt injured or at worst destroyed but common sense must start to prevail lets hope this is over turned,
Wrotham Heath easy..... best 2yr old in Warren Place. Yes they didn't think hard about the Charlie Hall did they.. a meeting diminishing year on year. Common sense is something that is lacked from society nowadays.
Thanks Linden.. Peaks and troughs ill go through the motions again.. Don't suppose your down Ascot this saturday? How you keeping?
Seem to be busy most weekends at the moment.Should be a Great days racing and I,m sure you will enjoy yourself. I think thats a great idea of a night in memory of Oldest, will be great to put names to nom-de-plumes. I keep like I played, an Old Plodder not to high never to low.
Cats, we still hearing the same regarding the Frankel full brother- Noble Mission- i.e that he is not really up to top level as of yet? One of my NH 10 to follow is scheduled to run tomorrow, Steps To Freedom. I've got it down as a potential Supreme Novices Hurdle winner so hopefully it can continue the development over hurdles tomorrow.
