The horse who has been my profile pic for several weeks now makes his hurdling bow of the morrow. There’s your homework for the evening, crew. What’s his moniker??? A 'Barney Bonus' for the first correct answer.

Fisherman Frank?
Is that picture taken at Worcester?

By the way, ITOLDYOU (13/2) to win the 3.40 at Fontwell!

Excellent, correct. Yep, it’s Fisherman Frank. Makes his hurdling debut at Fonters Park this afternoon (4.10). Has had 2 runs for the Blake barn winning a Worcester Bumper (as pictured) before pulling up in the ‘Champion Bumper’. Not really sure why he ran in the latter heat but I’d be pretty sure the decision was owner driven as the yard pride themselves on running animals in heats they can be compeatitive. Things didn’t work out for The Fisherman at Cheltenham as he got very agitated in the paddock and going down to the start before suffering breathing problems in the race itself. Has to be of huge interest on his timber bow.

In the ‘lucky last’ at the same venue the stable run Barney From Tyanee (5.10). No, no, no, people, it’s not named after me! He ran an excellent race at Lingers Park in January before stepping up, half a mile, in trip and disappointing on his next pair of runs. Back to the same distance he ran so well at Lingers I can see a decent display from this one this afternoon. The very capable Cobden boy has been booked in this Conditional Jockeys' contest.

At current odds of 9/1 and 16/1 respectively maybe an each-way double is the way forward this afternoon, troops.

Good luck all.

I see that Alan King has had a couple of huge blows. Both Messire Des Obeaux and Ziga Boy ruled out of term 2017/18.

Meanwhile, I’ve just read one bit of news which I wasn’t aware of – had passed me by over the Winter, I’m afraid. The Grey Gatsby has moved from the barn of Kevin Ryan to Dermot Weld. Fascinating to see if he can rejuvenate the old boy.

Wow that's a blow to old Kingy. A shame.

As well as a couple mentioned above, I'm taking Cornish Warrier Fontwell 5:10 as it's looked good at Stratford and is still quite favourably treated.

Won't get massive odds at any time today, I'd imagine but I've taken 3/1
