Very coltlike and unruly before going down and was in the stalls a full five minutes waiting for others to load so not surprising that he missed the kick. Made up good ground in the straight before he weakened. He will come on a bundle for the run and we have to be pleased with the introduction. Should go pretty close next time.
I would be delighted Stick as he has showed the most important thing by running on which is that he has an aptitude to race. As you have mentioned there is a some filling out to do and add to that the winner looks a reasonable horse and I think it should not be difficult to find a race sooner or later. I would probably give him a couple of quiet ones and use the opportunity to experiment with trip, hopefully ending up with a mark which allows you to look at both maidens and handicaps after three runs, after which you will also know more about his trip.
The lass who rides him at home is a pretty good judge and she says he is much better on one of the Epsom gallops than the other. She says he is much better on the poly track which could mean he will much better suited by Lingfield. Michael wanted him to run at Kempton on debut as it is such a fair track for a youngster.
She thought he went ok but not as good as the Epsom poly. Funny how the horses feel at home on different aw surfaces, cue lecture from Nassau "tank top" Board....lol
Here is the race. An impressive turn of foot he made there stick. And a lovely stride. Very exciting for you.
Cheers Ron, between the three and the two he must have made up eight lengths. I am more impressed now than when I saw it live. We should have some fun with him.
