If you google, Wamberal New South Wales, here in Oz,( Wamberal beach erosion ) .... the will see how the heavy waves have pounded the coastline and people’s homes are starting to fall into the ocean.
l was staying in one of these homes just last week.
They had really bad damage nearly four years ago and the council and the state government refused to fix it AND allow anyone to fix their own properties.
Now they’ve had more heavy waves and high tides, it has further ripped the land away.
I've looked at the video Didley. There are some lovely properties there, it is unbelievable that the Government are refusing to do anything. What reasons do they give ? Over here in the I.O.W., there are parts of the south coastline near Blackgang Chine and Luccombe gradually slipping in to the sea solely due to subsidence of the land they were built on. Roads have collapsed suddenly, and residents can no longer reach their own houses by car. The I.O.W. Council prevaricate as to when/if they will ever reopen the roads !! I was very careful when we moved here from the north island, deciding to buy a property just being built on the opposite side of the island where I knew there was no Gault or blue slipper clay.
