I agree. I am all for investment but I wouldn't want us paying 250k a week and buying players for 50m+
I would say his banning suggests you are obsessed with him. He obviously got under your skin and the lady mods couldn't deal with it.
2 things. 1, I don't know if that is true and 2, if it is, it must have been based on whining from your mods, or does Sid hang on the Arsenal board these days. I know not much happens with Sunderland, but I'm sure he's not there all day. I don't agree with everything Syd does either.
I'm not commenting on the merits of HIAG's ban on the Arsenal board, but mods can't actually ban anyone ourselves. We have to ask Syd to do it.
Ok I haven't read everything but how has this become about 'banning' of people? Back to the subject, I went for non-arab billions. Reason being is that as great as it would be to win the league and many trophies with the expensive players we could bring in, we would always be told that we only won because we had arab billions. Imagine we get Arab billions for this season and finish above Arsenal. You know full well they will just say we could only do it with the billions & in a way would seem that way. I don't see Chelsea or Man City as a football club, just a toy for a rich owner. Liverpool are the same but they are seen as joke though.
Hypocrite?? I suggest you look the word up halfwit, why are you assuming Arab investment means every twat will be on 200k a week like City? Investment at this point does not mean limitless funds, it means... investment. Till you know for a fact what the figure is, if there's one at all, you're a bit previous with your stupid remark. There are Arab investors looking at Nottm Forest atm, will they be raiding Europes top players because they have Arab cash? Ask Pompey about Arab investors! Any more subjects you know fuk all about that you'd like to embarrass yourself with on here?
lol Notso..very true what you say though....Bankrolling and investing/funding are 2 diffrent things but i dont expect chelsea or city fans to understand this concept....and even if we do get bankrolled...we do it to compete and keep on a level playing field due to clubs like chelsea ..we dont and wont be doing it to blow everything a new arsehole and destroy the dynamics of the game
In addition, we will attract investors on the merit of being an attractive business proposition, as opposed to what has happened at Chelsea and City where billions of pounds of 'investment' are unlikely ever to be seen again.
Can you see Levy having it any other way, I can't. Also, Lewis has been open to the idea of sale for sometime, he is in his mid 70's, so that option is open, when that happens we'll see. I think he may want the value of the club increased before that though...CL football for example!, I wonder if he's slightly annoyed about not getting it this year?
a tad so i would say having seen how this squad could get 10 points ahead in 3rd at one point..i think the demise afterwards pissed off a very astute business man in Lewis and the rest is well documented..and now i think the aim is to lift us onto a high platform..as soon as we are at a peak..he will flog us.
I think this is a valid point, because of Arab investment people are assuming spending on City's level which is very unrealistic to be honest, AVB has already made some comments which suggest he is relatively happy with the squad so I doubt he will buy a completely new squad.
A relative of mine works in the club shop and told me last night that a batch of photos had arrived for most of the players. Among those missing were Jenas, Huddlestone, Bassong, Bentley, Pienaar, Dos Santos and Gomes. Apparently they have been left out of the official team shots this year. That would indicate major changes at Spurs and a possible injection of funds from the reduced wage bill. I hope it all works out well for you guys. I am the black sheep of a massive Spurs-supporting family, but still hold a soft spot for North London's finest.
That remains the greatest decision of my life. No regrets, whatsover. Charlton are my team and always will be. All of my clan are Edmonton born and bred, but I came along when my Dad had just moved with the Fire Brigade to Woolwich. My first match was when we were exiled at Selhurst Park and only 5000 or so were in the stands. But I loved it so much and Rob Lee became my instant hero.
I think that any Arabic investment might just be sponsorship. Didn't all of our current deals expire, yet our new kit's out on the 13th?
