Weak Mignolet has been exposed + EXCITING POLL!

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by Sir_Red, Nov 26, 2014.

?

What to do with a problem like Mignolet

  1. Loan him out

  2. Keep him as #1 keeper, re-assess in the summer

  3. Buy a new keeper in January and Mig can then warm the bench

  4. Buy a new keeper in January and sell Mig

Who would people prefer, Begovic or Cech? And which is more realistic?

Anyone think we'd have a chance of Lloris?

I thought when Rodgers came and was going back for Swansea players he may have got Vorm, who's a decent keeper - I just checked and see he's gone to Spurs as no.2!!

Begovic as he's 27 so could be our keeper for a number of years,no reason other than that Cech is a top keeper.

  6. I wanted us to sign Bergovic when we got Migs. Cech would be great for us though because he commands his area and shouts at the defence. Not sure if Bergovic does this.

I'd prefer Lloris out of the three mentioned but it won't happen. Plus we'd still have the same organisational problems too.

Why not Pepe. He's only 32 to too!. In all seriousness Begovic or Lloris would be a good choice

I'd prefer Lloris as he's a genuine step up whereas Begovic is more like a Mignolet in great form

Problem with Lloris is that Real seem to have targeted him to take over from Casillas and if not them it could be PSG, his cost is going to be big with a rich club probably making the bid.
Begovic is better than Mignolet, by a fair margin. I would have been happier if we had spent that little more a couple of seasons ago and secured Begovic. That said still don't think he'd have been an improvement on Reina.

I think England has 3 of the top 5 keepers in the world right now in courteous, lloris and de gea... Neuer is best by a long way

If lfc can put 29 mil down for markovic.... FFs lloris is a brilliant player...

Where'd the extra 9mil come from?

£20m isn't going to buy Lloris this summer, think you'd be looking at £30m+ add to that the CL factor which Lloris is likely to want in order to move (which lets be honest, we aint going to have next season) also if it were Madrid or PSG against us which club is a player going to pick both in terms of Club stature and wages.

This summer was the best chance we had of getting genuine quality players and we (the committee) blew it by not changing their prime targets with changing circumstances. (and by buying rubbish)

Imagine if we had Neuer [and I know we never will] how big a difference would that make to the whole team. You need a player with that confidence/arrogance and watch it filter through the team.

That is true... It does help.... So does having talismen like Alonso hyppia Torres

The fact is lfc have none cos no matter what bollox is talked the world knows Gerrard is league one right now

Lfc had SAS that drove the whole show including coutinho and sterling who were led along. Now they are all boys lost in a big world

And we spunked 87 mil up against a wall really when buying 3 really good uns with that would have us far better off

I see Southampton are spitting blood again as spurs poached thier scout apparently now Kidman had nuthin to do with their signings..... Funny that....

I said the same at the time but bridges were burned and some would maintain no matter what said that either reina was on the slide or backstabbing the club.... Anything bar the club and Rodgers were wrong

Oh and I am right jones has flogged goals but Mingolets record is as bad now

Reina was a weasel when he was practically begging Barca to sign him. I don't blame him for wanting to leave but the way he went about it was embarassing. He had the audacity to whinge when we had lined up Migs to replacement before his deal fell through.

Reina was poor for about 2 years - it wasn't a sudden or temporary slump. He was massively in decline and was costing us a lot of points. And there is no sign of him returning to his best - he was dog sh*t for Napoli last.

I loved Reina but time to move on - he's not the same keeper he once was.

Begovic is decent, nothing more, nothing less. Wouldn't mind him. However, I would prefer Cech as a short term solution but Kevin Trapp is the keeper I wanted. Only £4m buyout clause as well.
