Most of the rioters would probably welcome water cannons, they all look like they need a wash

If the police were allowed to batter the crap out of the little ****ers that would be a start. Watch the footage of the 1981 riots - that was proper policing and it needs bringing back now.

Why is it the troops are sent over to other countries as soon as there's a problem but aren't allowed to keep their own house in order?

Exactly. I can't believe they're not allowed to strike the rioters. I'm sure it wasn't the case when the Rangers/cockneys were kicking off in Manchester, the police were getting well stuck in then.

Jip Jap - Back in the 80s they used to love it when it kicked off at the football as they enjoyed a punch up as much as some of the fans did. It used to be murder going to fixtures up north as the local forces used to love the opportuntiy to stick it up the cockneys. I suspect the same was true in reverse

I've read a book by one of United's main hooligan leaders, and he said the coppers in Liverpool would always try and crack a few Manc skulls. If anyone complained they'd be told they shouldn't have come.

If the riots continue into the weekend it will be a nightmare. You will probably have the football hooligans joining in and innocent fans getting caught up in it.

It was a good shot to be fair, especially with all that hair in the way.

    Because of Oil.

Let's not get it twisted that our army goes anywhere to help people. They go where they are told when America needs to get it mitts on some more oil.

I'm not sure there was too much oil in the Balkans, or Falklands, or Korea, or Poland, or Belgium...

I'd grab all those brave young looters, arsonist and rioters ande send them to the front line in Afghanistan. We'll see how brave they are then!
