Thanks smug, you can only beat whats in front of you. Whenever there is a big scoreline there is always the element of one team being great and the other ****. Also, it goes without saying that if Fulham are in the bottom 3 they should be easier to beat than teams above them. Tat last sentance is rubbish though isnt it as we all know anybody can beat anybody.
Over 18.... In reply to you I don't and never have hated Steve Bruce, his background had nothing to do with his demise at our place he was sacked because the results he was achieving were not good, as were his tactics, I'm actually pleased he is doing well at your club, he over achieves for a while, like he did for us but then runs out of ideas. Yes he has got a workmanlike team with one or two better players doing well, probably punching about their weight if your honest, however it is a very long season and we are only half way through it so time will tell. Obviously I would like us to finish above you if it meant we stay up and that I'm afraid is all that matters, it is going to be dog eat dog for the next nineteen games as half of this league cannot afford to relax.
It's far from rubbish and I'll explain why. In the words of Abraham Lincoln, anybody can beat anybody ...... anybody can lose to anybody ........... but nobody can beat everybody. The top teams will always beat more bottom teams than the bottom teams will beat the top teams despite the odd exception. You beat Liverpool but lost to Man Utd, Arsenal & Man City. We beat Man City but lost to Chelsea, Spurs & Arsenal. Over the course of a season more top teams will beat Sunderland & Hull than the other way round ...... 100% fact every season. So, my sentence isn't rubbish, it's true no matter how much we wish it wasn't
I don't hate him because he's a Mag, not even a popper mag anyway. I hate him because he sold our best players, spent all the money on absolute dross, a lot of whom are not good enough, we've still got and still can't get rid of. Fielded a team without forwards which led to a very embarrassing cup exit, delivered sackable results after a summer of dismantling our squad and spent the time since he left us having sly digs every time he meets a Journalist about a fabricated excuse. The Bruce (Geordie) haters were in the minority. He lost the plot and got himself sacked and that's a fact. The way he speaks about us is extremely offensive. Do you know who scored our equaliser yesterday? Jack Colback, a Newcastle fan, just one of many who've played for us over the years.
No, you obviously don't. The mag insults aimed at him were because of the appalling run of form we had under him at the start of his last season in charge and end of the previous season. It was a stick that was used to beat him with, but not the reason for the beating. Of course, if you listen to Steve, he will never admit there was any other reason except his mag roots, because if he did, he'd have to admit the the form we were on was shocking, and a lot of the blame for it was down to him. I liked the bloke when he started for us, and he did well for us too initially. When things started to go wrong though, he just didn't have a clue. Personally I've never hated the bloke. What I've disliked most about him though is his constant whining since he left us. "They only sacked me because I was a Mag". "I got them to 10th you know"... Change the record Steve, move on. Wait long enough, and you'll find out yourselves. What excuse will he come up with when it goes wrong for you?
100% true .......... anyone who doesn't understand that is a total bell end. Bruce isn't a Mag and only people who don't understand the politics of the NE would think he is.
Aye i know, once it turns into a Hull/SAFC thing, i kinda loose interest, as i couldn't give a flying **** about them. Yet i keep on reading in case something interesting is said. Carry on, i'll keep reading.
Neither could I mate, until they come on here lying through their teeth and I feel obliged to correct them. I'll keep an eye out for your next interesting thread and contribute to that instead
Abandoned this thread have you? Noticed you're were still posting on here after my post. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/242969-Hull-plot-£6million-Steven-Fletcher-move/page3
2008-2009 - Season before Bruce - 16th Place 2009-2010 - First Season with Bruce - 13th Place - 3 better than before Bruce 2010-2011 - 2nd Season with Bruce - 10th Place - 3 better than previous season - 6 better than before Bruce 2011 - November 30th 2011 - Last Season with Bruce - 16th Place at time of sacking - 6 worse than previous - Equal to before Bruce So he took over a club moved them up the table every year tell the year he was sacked. In the sacking year he was still above the relegation zone and the same place in the standings when he was hired. He was also not even given even half a season that year. I didn't pay that much attention to you when Bruce was with you. I would guess that the drop from 10th to 16th caused the sacking, but honestly If this is what we can expect from Bruce ill take it. Even Nial Quin (sp) said that the sacking was premature.
good post well researched. You will find little sympathy for Mrs Doubtfire over here mate, however if you survive I for one couldnt give a ****, as it stands so long as there are more than 3 teams below us i couldnt care less who they are. I still think we'll stuff you at the Sol though
Why won't you take into account his transfer dealings and tactics? We know he's genrally decent but you need to understand the damage with that check book. He sold Bent for 18m Jordan Henderson 15m Gyan 12m Steed Malbranque 1m And replaced them with this Ahmed Elmohamady £2,000,000 Connor Wickham £12,000,000 Ji Dong-Won £2,000,000 Craig Gardner £6,000,000 Sebastian Larsson Free Keiren Westwood Free Roarie Deacon Free Wes Brown £1,000,000 John O'Shean £5,000,000 David Vaughan Free James McClean £350,000 Yep, a ****ing load of dross, most of which we can't move on. He dismantled a decent team with potential and wasted a lot of money bring in the players who have got us in the position we're in now with no way of getting rid of them. That's the sort of **** that got him sacked, that combined with bad results and dementia tactics like fielding no forwards in a game. You wouldn't know though as you've never let him loose with a check book. you'll see eventually if he starts demanding a next level transfer budget. You'll learn the hard way.
