Well I have work tomorrow so I am off. What is the point of this site if you can't say what you think without criticism. Now that really is a waste of time and you don't get it?
I do get it. It's the very point of the site. Or any forum. You say what you think, you put your ideas out there and see how they hold up. Criticism - argument if you will - is part of the process and I expect it every time I post.
i would say we got lucky in the final absolutely. But at the same time Derby didn't do enough to win despite all their possession and neat football. A handful of shots, maybe one that really tested Green. Austin still had the best chance of the game when he skewed wide IMO. Over the season we weren't pretty, we played some dire stuff but HR assembled a team that stumbled into the playoffs. When you get in the playoffs - anything can happen. So lucky in that one game - probably, lucky over the season...no. We were hard to beat and did what we could to turn battling draws into wins. So with that in mind we've had to assemble another new team over the close season and whether we like it or not they're going to take a while to click. Its still an improvement on what we saw last season with much better opposition so in terms of an upward trajectory..I'd say we were getting there albeit rather slowly. Leicester beat United but they are a better side than us with players that have played together for a while with the additions of one or two shrewd acquisitions - we haven't had that nucleus but hopefully we're getting there. Failure to bring in extra strikers was bad news but it's not an exact science - it's not like Management didn't try. I for one am prepared to make allowances for that particular state of affairs. I agree the performances at Utd and Spurs were dreadful and unacceptable, hopefully we wont see such poor levels of commitment from here on in. The battling in the 2nd half against Stoke was encouraging I thought.
The match day Income is nowhere near as important as the TV money these days so that argument doesn't stack up. 10,000 more people equates to about 6 million quid a year. We get at least that much more than those three clubs on our new shirt deal.
Top post Chaz. Hopefully yesterdays results will mean HR has learned to show a lot less respect to some of the top teams. What I will say is that of the three teams we have played at home we have given them all a game at least.
Good post. I agree with most of that. I do think we could have got another striker in. Even if Remy stayed I think we needed another and had the whole summer to do so. I Just hope it does not cost us
Not really Jack. Its the corporate facilities of new stadiums and all that goes with them that rakes in the cash, not the average Joe's seat in the stand. Someone posted two years ago that Man U's corporate returns for one match day supersedes our season ticket sales for an entire year.

My matchday experience includes an hour or two in local hostelries before and after the game. With decent facilities inside the ground, the money spent in pubs and restaurants would go to the club.
Back to the OP - Yep, we are currently the worst side in the Division with probably only Burnley on about equal prospects. Bored with stating that we have a management team THROUGHOUT that haven't a clue of what they are doing. Will always love my club - will always hate kanouts, parasites, incompetents and wasters, which is exactly what we have had at our club for the past 3 years. Beard - Tone, I think we might have a problem here you know, the natives are getting restless Tone - What, do they think my beautiful Arry might not stay? Beard - I'm not sure it's that Tone. Tone - I tell you it is - offer him and the rest of the guys a 2 year contract Beard - But how the Hell? Tone - Yours is not to question - if you had the contacts I've got then you could be making the decisions. And anyway, this time next year we'll be Billionaires when we get the land. well yes Remy was very unfortunate. I admit that when the Liverpool deal collapsed and nobody seemed to be moving for him, i thought he'd stay. the ajax guy fell through and one or two others i think - defoe at the last minute was also unfortunate but yes i suppose they should have got in a striker. having said that its difficult to budget for another striker on 50 large a week, possibly 5 - 10 mill up front, when he might just be bench warming because Remy ends up staying. For a club the size of rangers thats crazy - like the green / caesar situation from last season. Even more of a problem when it looks like Chazza Austin might not cut the mustard at this level. Perish the thought.
Won't happen, it's one thing doing business in Malaysia when you are politically backed by Mahathir the extremely "influential" ex PM and are on the board of both your own airline and the state airline that happens to be its main rival. This is increasingly looking like a Caterham version 2.0.
