It wasn't the first time -it won't be the last.
After last week's awful 'effort', I can feel pleased with the way that the team battled against the opponents ( including referee ) -if this is applied in all the remaining matches we will be fine.
 
Wasn't a penalty. Stupid foul to give away for their free kick.

Much better performance...we'll stay up putting those efforts in week in week out.

Overall the ref was an incompetent moron.
 
Massive improvement on the Colchester game. I think the tactical decision to go deep from around 78 mins was a risky one. Brentford had too much posession from then and we paid the price. We have another tough couple of fixtures coming up but overall I think that we will be competitive. I am relieved to see that we have a competent replacement for Fish in Harriman. I hope we extend his loan.
 
Pleased with the Gills performance in this match.Really good team effort I thought the way we closed Brentford down for much of the game and really got at them deserved more than a draw I really felt we deserved all 3 points.

I thought Brentford looked dangerous when we backed off of them and we just sat deep ( last 10 mins) and upfront we lacked quality once Weston came off

All said if we play like this for the rest of the season I would be happy

Why was it not the penalty, i thought it was but hard to be 100% sure as where my seat was, as my view was slightly blocked by the goal,and even Brentford's keeper has said he thought it was a penalty.
 
From my view (I sit on the inside isle of block one, row J), I felt he missed the ball when he swiped at it and lost his balance. He should have shot sooner that's for sure. Was never going to score from that angle.

The ref was poor, but he was spot on with that decision. Don't know ow Cody deserved a booking after being attacked though. Was never a dive.
 
I was in Medway stand and my view was that we should have had a pen. Cody pushed over just as he was taking the shot.

First time I have seen us this season and I thought it was a competent performance in the style we came accustomed too last season, and for times in the 2nd half actually seemed to have some control in the game, Brentford were a good side much at better at keeping the ball than us, but that was in part due to our habit of allowing the opposition to keep the ball if they are more than 30 yards from goal, but they hardly ever threatened to cut through our defence and we were relatively comfortable and I thought that everyone contributed. I would have given Charlie Lee MOM though it was a silly free kick he conceded for the goal, Legge was excellent too giving Donaldson (one of the best forwards in this league) very few chances (our strikers could learn alot from Donaldsons movement), and I was impressed with Harriman who I hope we can keep for the season. I wont say much about the ref, we are used to incompetent refs and he was just the latest in a long list, I thought it was a penalty (but I am biased), I have also seen them given for the challenge on Lee when we was running in for the rebound. Finally a word about Cody, he doesn't look match fit to me, I think a fully fit and confident cody would have taken on the chances that he got earlier and not given the defenders the chance to foul him. In the end if I am totally honest I think a draw was a fair result, but we should take heart from the performance and I think that we should survive if we maintain this level, my worry is that we have to be at 100% every week and that is difficult with such a small squad, I hope that before the window closes we can add a couple more players who will improve the quality of the squad.
