Fair play Supers My two lads both wear their Ipswich tops when they go out and about, their mates all support the "fashionable" clubs! I guess I was really lucky as it was an easy decision to go and support Town back in the early 70s. As for your old man I hope he has begun to renew the faith! We have only lost one in the last 10 with 7 wins and 5 consecutive wins now at home. We have left it too late for the play-offs but if we can finish in the top 8 I would be delighted and I hope he regains interest for next season!
he hasn't fallen out of love with the game due to poor results, but because of everything currently going on in football. he has become alienated by modern football and has lost much of the love for the game he used to have. he can't associate himself with any current players or what they get up to and he is sick of what he affectionately terms 'the tossers' in charge and playing for his club
Fair enough! There is a lot that has gone wrong at Ipswich and I won't pretend that its been a bed of roses over the last few years! As fans we take an oath that we will support them come what may through the bad and the good. I am not going to question your dad's loyalty as I can understand what you are saying about the feeling of alienation. There have been days when i have hated Ipswich Town but then there are days when I ****ing love them again and all is forgiven! This is the beauty of supporting clubs like ours as you never quite know whats waiting around the corner!
he still supports the club - i don't think you can stop that easily - but he is most definitely disenchanted by everything surrounding his club at this time.
