I'm sensing not a lot of Shola love going in BRS?

Wow, I guess you would have people with no talent in the team who fit into Pardew's style of play and get relegated again Emre never came across as lazy to be, I've seen him running and creating stuff at times this season. Also I've never heard anyone getting on his back.

Its just insanity mate. I mean I hear people saying 'Loyal servant, not on high wages...'.

Looks lets be brutal here. No other team in their right mind would ever want him and this guy clears something between £20-30,000 a week and he does nothing to benefit the team save making the odd cameo which involves him commit numerous fouls, fall over and him not being able to trap a bag of cement let alone a ball. Its just so depressing to still see him on the bench. We may as well bring Kinnear on ahead of him- thats how useless he is.

Er no I'd like talented players who also at least try their best. I accept you can carry maybe one player if they deliver regularly. Someone does their work in return for regular supply of quality (Robert, Ginola etc). HBA and Sissoko don't supply this so what is the point in carrying them? I can name the chances Sissoko has created this season on one hand, and I wouldn't need all the fingers.

Again too the "Pards way". Its every managers way. If we were ever lucky enough to get a Mourinho type, Sissoko/HBA would be dropped and out the door if they wouldn't change. Not many players can be carried these days.

Emre wasn't lazy? Seriously? <laugh> He couldn't even be arsed to get fit to get on the pitch half the time. He used to stand and watch teams break on us forgetting he was part of a 4 man midfield. He was maybe used wrong because he is luxury player who you play behind 1 striker but that is not an excuse. I rate Sissoko as worse, at least Emre had passion for a derby. His off field antics were legendary and probably explained his injury problems and lack of energy in games.

Suits Mike perfectly though doesn't he? Low wages for a PL striker. As long as the fat man is here he will never be sold. Pardew made noises season end about him going, still here though. It is shameful he is still here. He would not get in any PL squad outside our own.

Cisse is offering nothing to the game. At least Shola wins things in the air, can chest a good ball down, draw defenders out and bring others into play.

We cannot count Shola out simply because he's not a great player. He's a championship level player but he can still have his uses. If a CC standard player can be a part of a winning team then let him play.

We need to take it game by game, and I think bringing Shola into the side would be a good idea for now.

Like it or not long balls can be effective in some games. We looked far better playing balls to Shola vs Sunderland then trying to pass it through them.

One of the worst sale by our club in recent years was Leon Best. A guy who came and looked poor and lazy. Bucked his ideas up and became a useful squad member. Lovenkrands was another. Yet Shola outstayed them, like he always does and we never replace them.

Wasn't keen on Best, not good enough, though could have been good cover which we could do with now. Lovenkrands and Best both been struggling in the Championship since leaving Newcastle.

And just to make me look silly Lovenkrands has gone and scored tonight

Best's goal to game ratio when he started playing well was excellent. He was a great covering striker when our best strikers were out. He won us tight games with good goals.

Back end of the 2010/11 season and first month of the following season then yes it was, after that he's barely scored.

What is this "brave" phrase you speak of? This is new to my 2012-2013 "watching Newcastle" vocabulary. I know of only "pussy out" and "bottle it".

How much different would our season have been if in the summer we'd bought Rhodes, Le Fondre or Long (2 preferably), Ince or Redmond, Sean Morrison (Reading captain) or Shawcross. Sold Obertan, Gosling, Ameobi to raise funds, help wage issues. Surely we could have stretched to that?

Don't want to sound negative but i don't think we could attract Ince (going to end up at a bigger club than us) or Shawcross (would leave Stoke for a top 8 side only IMO), the other signings would have been good.

Probably right. To be honest I think it may be a struggle to attract players heading forward, at least from these shores. The club is getting a certain reputation.

To be fair I think it's difficult for any team outside the top 7 to attract players in the short term without paying over the odds for players such as Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing. Think that is why the club has looked abroad, we need to have a long term goal of bringing through more home grown players who are good enough, which will hopefully happen with players like Dummett, Sammy Ameobi and Campbell.
