Horrible situation for Trips and his family if that is what's going!

Was thinking this last night though - honestly think Tino is as good as him currently if not better (quicker, better running with the ball, defensively they are about the same etc.) and is getting better while Tripp's is clearly on the decline. Once the whole squad is fit, does Tino push Trippier out the team?

Cb, left back , striker and right wing need an upgrade and then they'll be cooking provided they're better than what we have.

I feel bad now because I was saying drop him.. it's poor management from Howe although Trippier is the type of guy who will always say I want to play.
Thats why we pay Howe to make the decisions, if he plays well it looks alright however with his performances lately and the penalty miss it just intensifies any scrutiny on him

Exactly it's really quite simple if Howe makes the decisions that work he's doing well and if he doesn't he's not doing well.

There's for some reason a strange cult mentality where some of our fans fall so deeply into an obsessive adoration with managers and certain players that they're unable to see any flaws in them.

What makes it worse is they begin to behave like besotted teenagers towards anyone pointing things out or questioning things.

Why wasn't he rested then Jesus christ then they made the poor bloke take a pen.
And you know this for a fact?

It might be that he wanted to play and that he wanted to take a penalty. I can remember Lovenkrands playing and scoring shortly after his father died and no one had any issues then. Clearly, not the exact same scenario but not a million miles away.

Everyone is different and you just plain don’t know what has happened but you’re quite happy to state categorically that “they made the poor bloke take a pen.” Not acceptable.

I think the thing that makes this different is that Trippier has been giving away goals for fun for weeks now culminating in last night before taking the second penalty.

If Lovenkrands had come back after his dad and despite saying he wanted to play was giving away goal after goal I'd expect the manager to step in and say no and protect him.

Lovenkrands scored so I'm not particularly surprised nobody complained.
