I know stats can be manipulated any way to suit a certain argument but I can't help noticing that Giroud has only scored one league goal against top half opposition (5-2 v Tottenham), he's bagged all his goals against the likes of Reading, Norwich, Fulham and Newcastle.
Now I never expected him to be RVP mark 2 and I think he's done OK this season, it's our expectation that I think has contributed to our disappointment.
I admire his workrate but he will never be a clinical 30 goals a season striker...

Well that's his fault, he never had to make such a tackle, and he wouldn't have to, if he knew how to keep and win a ball.

You could've said whatever the **** you wanted, wouldn't CHANGE the fact that Giroud is still banned for 3 games, because of his own stupidity, he's out for 3 games, and there's nothing you can do about it, you can talk ALL THE BULLSHIT you want, BUT NOTHING will change the fact that he's out for 3 games, it's basically ciaoooooo Giroud you ****ing donkey.

In what world is buying the top goal scorer in Ligue 1 a "penny pinching gamble"?

Man 17 goals for from a "penny pinching gamble" in his first season. That doesn't sound right, and he's an active French NT Player? And God forbid the "donkey" follows the trend most new players do and have a far better 2nd season <doh>

Honestly Murray, IDK. With this guy it seems that unless we blow everything on Messi we're penny pinching.

I genuinely hope Giroud proves me wrong, I really do, but at the moment I just cant believe he will ever be good enough to be the Arsenal first team striker.

A French League did better in the UCL than United, City, Chavski, and Arsenal but yet keep ****ting on their league. Just because its not as good as the EPL doesn't mean its a crap league. That's why England's on the verge of losing its 4th UCL coefficient spot right? Such a world beating league <doh>

He is top class coz hes in the French National team . ?

well lets see , Andy Carroll was in the English national team ... so by default he is world class and we should buy him ?

Stewart Downing was in the English national team , and ...err......

Not really. When was Carroll's last call up or did you skip the ACTIVE part, that means out of all the French Players in the world the National Team Coaches, who have far more experience and pedigree than some prick on the Internet, have adjudged him to be among the best and capable enough to represent his National Team <ok>
So I'd rather trust the experts than some know it all arm-chair manager <ok>

Giroud being in the French National team don't change the fact that he's been average for us for most of the season, yes, stats say he has 17 goals, and on paper, that looks good, but in reality, on the pitch, he's average for the majority of the time, and missing for many games.

A top striker should be a priority this summer, Giroud ain't good enough to be our starting attacker week in week out.

Oh, and just for the record, Djourou plays for the Swiss national team, does that mean he's legit now to come and play as Arsenal's main CB?

The French league is fifth in the UEFA co-efficients table; the Albanian league is 43rd. Do you really think they are comparable?

To be honest, the French national team is hardly the shining light it once was.

Other strikers in the France Squad:

Benzema - Very good, not excellent
    Gomis - Good
    Menez - Poor
    Briand - Poor
    Remy - Plays for QPR

Saying Giroud plays for France so must be good enough for Arsenal doesn't work, as they are particularly average in that department at the moment.

Using Oxo's logic that playing for France makes you 'good enough'... this is a first XI made of current Italy, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Holland and France internationals:

    ---------------------------------Cavalieri-------------------------------------

    Arbeloa---------------Fanni------------------Vlaar----------------------Clichy

    Maxi Rodriguez--------Javi Garcia-------------Payet-------------------Diamanti

    -----------------------Di Santo----------------Kuyt---------------------------

That team would struggle to finish top 8 let alone top 4. None of those players listed are good enough to be playing for the best club teams in the world.
