Nathaniel Clyne at Palace must be worth a shout, his contract is up in the summer, as is Nicky Maynard's?

Also, McGugan has been told he can leave Forest if the price is right, I saw their boss saying "we need to sell people to bring new faces in to avoid relegation". Cripes!

there are players out there but we all know what our club is like on getting players. we pay way over the odds for danny instead of paying for a striker who can play premiership football and now Brendan must play him to try and get our moneys worth and not lose face at spending way over the top for a great championship player. we then go for a player and at the last minute lose him to a lower league team who has offered him better terms...and my favorite is we get a couple of players who accept our terms only to find the club has missed out on registering them to play...<laugh> we need to get in there early and wrap up any targets quickly or we wont get the right player we are desperate for.....

WE PAY WAY OVER THE ODDS FOR DANNY!>!>! Dai you're mad. 6 goals for 3.5 million is a ridiculously good return even ignoring (as you do) the lack of service to him. Has Torres got 6 goals this season? He cost 50 million.

Just so we can get Danny Graham's 6 goals in perspective. It's equal or better than:

Aston Villa's top scorers (Agbonlahor & Bent with 5)
Everton's top scorers (Baines, Osman & Vellios with 3)
Fulham's top scorer (Dempsey with 6)
Liverpool's top scorer (Suarez with 5)
Stoke's top scorers (Crouch & Walters with 4)
Sunderland's top scorer (Larsson with 5)
WBA's top scorer (Long with 5)
Wigan's top scorers (Di Santo & Gomez with 4)

you conveniently forgot that all them strikers share their goals with 3 or 4 other team mates, we dont as they are not good enough...a big big difference, we rely on danny only....not good enough for premiership but its all we got as brendan wont play lita who is far more skillful because of the over the top money we paid for danny boy...

There are many Premiership teams who are reliant on a single striker for their goals:

Arsenal - Van Persie 16, next best Gervinho 4
Blackburn - Yakubu 10, next best Hoilett 3
Bolton - Klasnic 7, next best Eagles 3
Newcastle - Ba 14, next best Best(!) 3
    QPR - Helguson 7, next best Bothroyd/Mackie 2
Wolves - Fletcher 7, next best Hunt 3.

The only teams with multiple high scorers are Man City, Man Utd, Spurs & Chelsea which is why they occupy the top 4 spots. Our situation is quite common.

If Swansea strikers are 'not good enough' there are plenty of other teams whose strikers are not good enough either.

Crackers, SS99 is completely blinkered when it comes Danny Graham and his value for money as he just refuses to accept the facts and figures. <ok>

we wont get our money back on danny in a million years if we were to sell him, what was it some qpr fans said when we played them..." thank god we never paid what swansea paid for danny and beat them to it as he is out of his depth and no better than a championship player....and of course they are spot on......

Why would we want to sell Danny Graham who has 6 Premier League goals and is in the top 20 strikers in the league?? And who gives a monkeys what some QPR fans are saying - sour grapes on their part because he chose us over QPR. Poor argument, Dai.

i said IF WE WERE TO SELL HIM...wake up..name one side who would pay what we paid for him. If he was a proven premiership striker then maybe but what we paid is well over the odds. and now we are near the bottom where we need to spend money for players you want to spend £2 - £3 million for at least 4 players..<doh>£10 -£15 million is the very least or expect more of the same in the second half with one or two wins a few draws and the rest losses which will end our season like a damp squib and will wreck everything we have built up over the years in one season.....you cannot say danny is worth close on £4 million when you think we dont need to spend much in january..<laugh>. qpr and norwich will stay up and so will we if we strengthen and spend what it takes to keep us up. if we dont then what was the point of achieving premiership status if we wont do our best to stay here, we have the funds like the rest....use it its no good sitting in the bank....£45 million is on offer without the millions the city makes....we have a lot to lose with very little chance of getting to the premiership again for a long long time..

Dai why are you so eager to see Graham fail? The guy has a frankly, class scoring record so far this season and he's got people like you knocking him and putting him down. I bet you're such a happy person day-to-day...

It must be the festive season , SS99 has been constantly negative for a while now. I may be wrong but I'm sure that none of us on here are managers and in particular Swansea's manager who works daily with the team and watches the same games as the rest of us (whether at the Liberty or not) every one can see our failings and I'm sure they'll be dealt with where possible .To expect a large influx of players into the squad is ludicrous and won't happen but those that do come in will be ones bought with a all the best intentions of the club and I believe that sincerly. There's no one on here that wouldn't be disappointed if we go back down I'm sure but the bigger picture has to be we are stronger and better prepared if it does happen to bounce back. Every time we moved up especially into the Championship we were favourites to drop back down ,just look where we are after a relatively short time IMO

why do i want danny to fail <doh> i dont....im saying he is one of the players that is poor at his job and our goal tally proves it. he is no better than a championship player and the premiership is a bit to much for him with the system we play. he is no lee trundle or Jase the ace at playing on his own and creating and scoring from anywhere. nobody wants him to fail but the longer we stick with him getting the odd goal here and there then im sorry we will not score enough goals to be able to stay out of the bottom 3....we are sliding down now with one win in 8 games and a lot of them have been at home against fellow bottom clubs.....like i said we want danny to succeed but he wont do it playing the lone striker roll as he have shown all season, A lone striker has to be able to score goals inside and outside the box and he can score a few inside the box but outside has been lacking and thats why i prefer lita who can score inside and long range shots. play the both i say to double our chances from the start of the game and not 10 minutes from the end when we are losing........

Dai Wigan paid 2 Million for Scotland who scored one goal, and it took him nearly all season to get it, Graham is on six, and is likely to get 12 goals before the season ends, that to me, and pretty much all Jacks seems, very good value for his price tag. Lita is no way better than Graham, Lita does not have a good first touch at all, and is not a great passer of the ball, Lita is an out and out poacher, living of the shoulder of his marker, and trying to beat the offside trap, Lita will always be the one to be found offside, before graham.....................

graham has 6 goals already, put it this way, he's relatively cheap when you compare his fee of around £3.5m to the £7m west brom paid for long, £3m or so leicester paid for beckford, £3m for morison and so on, if anything its harder to score goals when you're a lone striker and though i dont really rate him he's scored difficult goals, and deserves his place in the team..
