Don't get me wrong he's a decent player, I just see him in the same vein as Carroll and Downing.

No idea who we were linked with, their were quite a few young players. Did we sign that lad from Sporting Lisbon in the end?

No we didnt. He said he felt he wasnt ready for a move to Liverpool. Not sure whether that was to do with football or moving to England.

Yeah striker firstly. We also need a left mid, right mid, attacking and striker!

Hum. Do we have the money and who can we attract are good questions.

I believe we definitely have the money. I think FSG are very committed to investing in players and would definitely spend £40million on the right player. There rule of course is it has to make business sense, so that player will have to improve the team, attract global attentions and be a merchandising hit. I believe money is not an issue.

all i can say is the thought of "no more squad players" appeals to everyone but i think ther eis a way o go that bridges both worlds.

Last summer we had more holes than a seive in our squad and this year we've done fairly ok but you can still see the issues.

As for newcastle? gems? yeah ok lets be fair the newkie lads have done really well and all that but they are a distant 6th really. doing great looking good everyone feeling great and yet no pot on the side board and no chance of moving higher in the table consistently. in short newcastle are not the example to look to. I'm perfectly happy to say newcastle have far exceeded my expectations for them particulalry under pardew but i won't be thinking that are any sort of paragon of virtue.

we need to get in who we can when we can for as good a value as we can. If that means a 21 year old lucas equivilant who can devleop (ie henderons) then fine. If it mean mesii then also fine. it all depends on money, attractiveness and wages.

Newcastle are indeed a distant 6th. We're a whole matter of goal difference from 5th.

If we're talking about squads and ability then i think we're lower than 6th in the table but as far as actual points on the board goes we're as close to 3rd as we are to 7th. For the record i think half our team is very poor but that Tiote, Cabaye, Ba, Cisse and Colocinni could get into your team. Just my opinion.

You lost me in most of that, but disagree with that bit: Tiote, Cabaye, Ba, Cisse and Colocinni. Maybe Ba, and Tiote (until Lucas returns)

The first part i was being sarcastic in response to the comment about us being a distant 6th. We are clearly punching above our weight but points-wise we're equal 5th, the gap in the table is between 6th and 7th (us and you). Most Newcastle fans expect the likes of Tiote and Ba to be playing in the champions league next season, perhaps Cabaye too. Going to be a fun close season again ...
