My point stands that we're the most televised club in the Football League and have been since Newcastle got their TV honeymoon upon relegation. Our last nine consecutive FA Cup games have been shown. There's already three Leeds fixtures Sky have earmarked for coverage next season. No other Football League club has more than one. So it smells of ratpiss to take the Mick out of our media attention when it's only slightly less than yours and we're a division below playing far less entertaining opposition. We'll get twice as many as you shown when we're back up there. I just hope it doesn't **** on our fans' travelling schedules too badly. Oh, and the first fixture on Flyer's list I checked was QPR vs Stoke. Never shown on TV according to any internet records I can find. Might look over the rest later if I'm in a particularly bad crevice of bored self-loathing.
I only put down the sunday and monday games after the 1st 6 so only the 1st 6 are 100% confirmed, the last 5 were games played on sunday/monday not including xmas and easter.
Don't understand the thread. Fact that some clubs aren't very active on here just means they use other forums, surely?
Maybe, i just didnt want to spend more than a minute working it out, someone could search the offish but I cant be arsed. The ones with dates were 100% on TV as it was ont he offish.
Newcastle - home Villa - home Chelsea - home Tottenham - away City - home United - home Swansea - away Newcastle - away Bolton - away United - away Swansea - home Tottenham - home Chelsea - away MK Dons - away - fa cup Thats 14.
we were shown the most outside the top 4. nice one judo, I couldn't be arsed to find out. so we were shown a lot even though we were a small club with huge teams in the league. we were still shown more than Leeds who were competing against tiny reams for tv coverage.
That's unfavourable for us, surely? Look at how many of your TV games were against top of the table clubs. A higher proportion than ours. Sky are hardly going to find Boro and Burnley games appealing, but it was the Leeds factor that made them want to air them. And there's no doubt we were on TV more than you last time we were in the same division, even though you won the league. The fact you were most aired outside the top four is interesting - wonder where Leeds would come on a national 'TV table'. Around seventh or eighth, I'd imagine.
Well, I only said 'probably'. We are MASSIVE though, no doubting that. If I may, I'd just like to take this chance to get on my soapbox and say how **** it is that you got televised four times more than us last season and yet received around eight times more in TV money. Die die Sky.
Actually agree with you on Sky, has ruined competitive football in this country. Was Leeds v Notts Forest amongst your many televised games? I hope so, sounded like a belter.
