Do you reckon we're going to get another 19 at home from the remaining games? Or perhaps away? Look at Redknapp's post January record for the last 3 seasons. His teams get worse, not better. From this point on over the last 3 seasons his teams have won 16 league games in total. 6 were with Spurs and 8 in the Championship. We need 6 wins (he said it himself).
I'm not clairvoyant, Stanley and I'm as disappointed with our current sit-yee-ation as you are. But I do believe we have just as much chance as all the other strugglers to stay up (or go down). The league table is there for you to look at. Yes, I think its entirely possible we will get to 38 points. Mind you, its possible Leicester, Hull, S'land etc will too. Saying we're down already is crazy talk lad.
Leicester and Burnley don't have much quality, but they do have fight. Hull have a lot of good players on the way back from injury, but look dodgy. Sunderland, according to my Mackem mate are a complete disaster, he can't stand watching them, and the fans are beginning to turn against Poyet, his signings aren't working. Palace and West Brom have momentum. Newcastle have a long way to fall but I can imagine an implosion there. It's a pretty crap league this year, but they'll all be reckoning on us filling one of the relegation places. We might fluke it, but my gut says otherwise. 3 years ago I was absolutely convinced we would stay up, don't have any confidence this year.
With 16 games to go it's entirely possible we'll get 48 points and finish with 67 points. Back in the real world with a team that has played shyte for around 80% of this season, played shyte for about 80% of last season and played shyte for 80% of the time Harry was in charge the season before that I get the impression we're going to play shyte for at least 80% of the remainder of this season. We've winged the first half of this season with a generous home fixture list, we just can't get a point away from home and play all our main rivals away from now on, it really is a nightmare scenario with a lame-duck manager who just hasn't a clue and I get the feeling the players know it as well. The next 5 days will shape our future as a club and unless there is a hatful of inspired signings in the key positions we will finish bottom (again). And before you spout your usual bollox Swords try watching a match and see what the faithful have to endure before pontificating from your armchair...
