I like Kilkenny. Midfield playmaker. We just dont have the players to support him.
I am with Red Robin on this one.

I don't thin kwe need to sign many, our youngsters play the sort of football that the first team hasn't for MANY years

But very few of them are good enough for League 1 football. Many of our academy graduates have gone on to play in the conference or lower. Besides, Lansdown spoke of improving the academy earlier this year. No actual work has been done, so those coming through now are probably of very similar quality to the ones before.

The only academy players that I think could do a job in League 1 are Carey and Bryan. If we get category 2 status, and if Lansdown does invest in the academy then I think it'll still be another three years before we see a viable candidate come from the academy that can play regular first-team football.

What about Burns and Ajala(think thats his name) and there's another striker Krans is it? not being in Bristol it's hard to keep up to date on the young uns.

Disagree, we signed around half a dozen for the development squad and one or 2 are probably better than league One bearing in mind where most of them came from. I watched Yeovil v Sheffield Utd last night and it was dismal, (Joe Edwards did ok but no trees were pulled up) - and these are 2 of the best in the division.

We should stop denegrating our youngsters before they have even set foot on the pitch in anger...
