Luke. Surely even you can see that, had Parker and King played against both you, and City, then the results of both games could well have been very different.

Can I just say, very well played today you thoroughly deserved the win.

I went to the game and your fans before, throughout, and after were brilliant and very welcoming.

As for the match, we simply didn't turn up and you were outstanding, a combination like that welcomes only one outcome. You dominated without doubt, the sending offs obviously didn't help, but in my eyes we brought it on ourselves. Definitely 2 reds (Skrytel was only a matter of time imo), I also thought Suarez was lucky to stay on.

    Congratulations on the win <bastards>

    Cheers, Skylarker.
You're continuing the theme that a lot of your fellow Liverpool fans started earlier.
    Very magnanimous in defeat.

Dalglish seems determined to turn Liverpool into an English Celtic.

Think about it, when they're beating the teams they're expected to beat (or are hitting the self destruct button) the club and the fans are all smug and superior, but as soon as they come up against decent competition the wins turn to losses, suddenly there's talk of referees conspiring against them - even though all their bookings (and both sendings off) were fully deserved, and there's no arguing that Suarez was offside when he put the ball in the net.

Dalglish is becoming a victim of his own conceit. Unfortunately, for L'pool fans, they are all to willing to believe in this false "messiah". He has massively overpaid for no better than average players (Downing, Carroll) yet continues to believe, in his arrogance, that the only reason he is not top of the table is a massive conspiracy of officialdom against him, and his club. If Wenger doesn't watch out, he is going to have a serious rival in the self-delusion stakes.

I think that people are being mislead by Dalglish's actions.
He's playing games, in much the same way that Ferguson, Wenger or Mourinho would.
How often would you see one of them come out and accept that their team was beaten fairly?

Dalglish is trying to influence the officials by suggesting that they've made mistakes, but it appears to have spectacularly backfired yesterday.
The ref did everything by the book to avoid such accusations and it resulted in his team being reduced to 9 men.

I doubt that he actually believes half of this stuff.

I would have to disagree with that. Was it not Liverpool who had a meeting with officials only last week to discuss this "conspiracy" against them?

What better way to pressure them?

He mentioned that they had played four games and got four bad decisions against them, but what decision went against them when they beat Arsenal?
If he does believe it, then he's got a case of the Rafa's.

Looking at his apparent belief in this conspiracy of officialdom, and most of his transfer buys, it looks like a rapidly developing case of the Wengers', to me.

If Liverpools' intent in this meeting, was to try and influence future officiating of their matches, it seems to have spectacularly backfired on them yesterday!

I think Dalglish is becomming his own worst enemy. He seems to believe all this messiah stuff and King Kenny will give us what is rightfully ours BS.Where as so far he has made some very costly and debatable buys(few of which seem that good).I just hope he stays in charge and completely kills off any chance Liverpool have of getting that top 4 place back again.

It'd be interesting to know how much influence Comolli has had on Liverpool's recent transfers.

I thought Dalglish demanded final say on transfers on taking the job, having seen players bought for Rafa and Woy. Having said that he's only agreeing a name, and himself probably has no interest in fees n wages leaving that to the French dullard.

  16. Liverpool were completely and utterly humiliated by us on Sunday, in every department. Scott Parker's presence in the centre of midfield, and Ledley's calm leadership at the back made us look invincible. Our attackers were able to penetrate again and again without any fear of our being caught on the counter, as in previous times. It was a sheer pleasure to behold, and I can't wait to see us demolish other teams like that.

If ever there was a need for a confidence-boost, that was it!

Which, coincidentally, is a very Celtic way of going about things when they lose an Old Firm game or someone like Motherwell or Hearts raise their game when playing against them and gain a favourable result.

That could explain why Raul Mereiles is being remarkably coy in explaining his exit from Liverpool, hinting that there's reasons but not saying why. It certainly looks that Dalglish took the attitude that he wasn't one of "his" players, whilst Charlie Adam is - even though Adam isn't half the player Mereiles is.

Consistency is key HIAG; and, unfortunately, something we have long struggled to achieve. We need to produce much more regular performances like that. We were somewhat fortunate in that Dalglish was arrogant enough to come to WHL and attack. Others, as we have seen in previous years, will be more circumspect, and difficult to break dpwn.
