I'm at al loss why people automatically think that going foreign is a guarantee of success? I'd say the chances of failure are ten fold with a foreign player than a known British based one? Always astounds me that fans think this way?
Your right mate it is a risk but trouble is we just don't have the money to spend on over priced British players ATM I just hope we can find a few good ones because we need it
I think whilst this is partly fair, these kinda 'Afro-French' they are always physical units, and generally are capable of playing anywhere, look how many have been a roaring success, Yaya, Ba, Essien prime examples. Even though I have a gap in my knowledge for this lad, I find myself being all for it.
Mons he is ****ing enormous. Not just tall but physically very imposing and something we lack so much imo. He has the same look as Toure about him and that height in the middle of the park is something we lack and look vulnerable to. As you say, players from that regional background do have natural athletic talent and skills so for the money touted he isnt a risk. That said, we may not see the best of him until next season as a 22 year old lad coming to the UK he wont be up to scratch from day one for sure and thats a concern as we need players to make an impact now. I think this is why Cahill is an absolute masterstoke from Martin as he can quickly make an impact while any new lad beds in.
Aye, He looks an absolute tank, as you say in the Yaya/Diame mould, can you see many teams going through us with a man-mountain alongside Catts? Me neither. Hopefully he can play a bit as well, and as you say, that money wouldn't even buy you a decent Championship player.
Fletch Downing - Sess - Johnson Catts - N D'Whateveritis Looks very decent potentially. Should in theory give Sess that freedom to turn it on.
I hope its more of a 4/3/3 Johnson on the left Downing on right pushed right up either side of Fletcher Midfield 3 of this french lad, Catts and Sess. With Sess being the midfielder with the vision 2 different tactic options, hope we get them both along with lescott and a quality attacking RB
