RP was I in favour of Lee BEING IN CHARGE ....no, we have him so we need to give him time.. as I said, time is something you get off a watch, and time can be an defined/undefined duration mine is April 2017 . A dozen of us took part in predicting the final league positions as we saw it ... 2/3rds had us in middle 8 teams the rest in top 8 .. juggling heart over prediction I said 6th although it was a few places lower in 9th. only 3 get to play? well the rhetoric at the time of the transfer season was they were building a team, still loosely based on paying out for young talent be it free, £50k, £4m he signed a team and a reserve!=12 in reality he had to bolster our squad as we were light and it was done without a swamp of loanee's and each purchase has a chance to pay for their time at AG when they move on your Dislike /hatred of LEE is something that you should let go of ... or are one of these people that if you were drowning and someone you had a dislike /hatred for offered you a hand to save you you would say "f@#!@ off? and drown? not being nasty you need to get into your tormented mind a position you would feel happy with, say 12th or 6th or 18th and wait till it is apparent that after x games played it is not going to happen then get voiciferous.. mind you some of the ones who predicted are a little premature in speaking up, but hey most is not vitriolic ..more of just wanting to say something
OK, I understand this is a results industry & RP hates Junior more than anything in the world (because of who he is!) But a question that i'm interested in. So far, what has LJ done wrong? Signings Formations Subs On quite a few games that I've witnessed, silly mistakes has cost us a lot of points, i.e Flint, Korey etc. Is that the fault of the manager? The one criticism I do have is leaving Tammy up front on his own and usually not starting well, which in my opinion IS down to the manager. I do believe we are short on a few players in certain positions and there are certain players lacking in form. Address these and I believe we do have a half decent side. As it stands, there are not many other mangers on the market that I would want, so as it stands, I'm reasonably happy. Put it this way, this time last year things looked dire....
this is similar to SC's 3-5-2 he had success with it and was not "clever Enough" to be able to modify the way we played and we lost out Lee is apparently doing the same, AND is loath to address the problem.. if indeed it is a problem .. most teams are aware of how we play and plan for it we do not have or have not fielded alternatives Blank sheet of paper and a pen, Lee says to me on a Friday put down the first 3 players you would pick and where I would play them I would put 3 X's on the paper to mark their spots ................ x Tommo ......... x ......... x Tammy I would give him 2 names Tammy and Tommo in place, by their X and say for the other you have 3 choices Wilbs, Engval Patterson get JP TO PICK ONE!
It will all come out in the wash one way or another inside the next year. Either he will spend Lansdowns millions and we'll be looking a good bet for the Premiership, or he will crash and burn and be sacked. If this sort of inconsistent form we are in now is evident again early next season then it may be curtains.
I am beginning to think he is a bit of a one trick pony to be honest. obsessed with only one up front. I could do his subs for him without asking and always bang on the hour. he strikes me as struggling for a plan B except for lumping Wilbs up front on the hour when we are behind in games. Keeps playing Little who is clearly not to standard and Pack can't get in despite playing well. Reckon he will be sussed out by the other managers second half of the season..
Seems to be a problem for a lot of managers, in fact was the decisive one that cost Cotts his job. I agree, he must learn to adapt to certain situations and not to become stubborn that plan A is the only way. I do believe that Tammy is a better player with a partner to feed off of.
I don't think we need to panic just yet, and coming from me that's almost an endorsement, but we need to start getting it right or the boo boys will be out in force. I think we have adequate players to finish in about 14th, but if that is the case it sets up a difficult shout for next season when all will be expecting a challenge for promotion. Anything less than consolidation this season followed by a good shout at promotion next time out is not just required, but rather a necessity otherwise we risk the long road back to the nether world.
