Fully fit squads... Wilshere, Walcott, Cazorla & Podolski So it would be: Lloris ? - ? - Vertonghen - ? Wilshere - Sandro - Cazorla Walcott - Bale - Podolski
would't have walcott near the team, lennon is the better of the two,for a start he doesn't run down blind ally's and lose the ball, and he's faster then walnut
Those questioning Walcott/Lennon, have a look who the goons top scorer is, Lennon would take 5yrs to score that amount. A typical Lennon season is inconsistant at best, a dozen game burst of being generally unplayable, but always an injury or two missing small chunks, but chunks all the same, never quite recapturing early form. I'd prefer Walcott of the two atm.
I think Lennon has been far more consistent than Walcott over the last 5 years and Lennon is not played as a striker. Plus, and this is the clincher, Lennon plays for Spurs.
Both points valid...and expected!, but being better over the last 5 yrs is history and not as significant as the say the last two in which Walcott has been more effective to the team. He has been played as striker more agreed, but not last season with RVP on point and he still scored 12. My basic premise is that if a team plays what is becoming commonly known as a front 4, you want 4 chipping in. In the last two seasons, Lennon has 4 goals in each and 10 and 6 assists respectively. Walcott has 21 and 12 goals, 16 and 11 assists. I knew this would be controversial, but i have given it some thought, and over the last 2 seasons I think Walcott has contributed more, more games some might say...good! you want your players on the pitch and not injured.
I know mate, had massive difficulty with it myself! but facts don't lie, i just tried to divorce myself from the usual 'who's better' banter and look at it objectively with contribution to the season overall.
No offence to Jamaica, but what a pointless a risky friendly to play. Knackered players carrying knocks flying halfway around the world to play in a tie that nobody cares about. Was it really worth the few quid that we'll have picked up for it?
You might be right OODB, but I think that Levy and Villas-Boas could've popped over to see Lewis without taking the whole squad with them. Maybe he just wanted to see his team in action? He is the owner, I suppose. I'd probably have Spurs play a friendly in my front garden if I was in his position, too!
