I'm sorry BSman but I just don't get it... it seems to me it's as if you were on the verge of getting a huge promotion at your job... and you wouldn't mind passing on it because they'll surely give you one next year. Which they might but you may also be fired next year. It's a stupid gamble that no one in their right mind would take. Did anyone predict Blackburn's position this year? Their situation this year should be proof that nothing should be taken for granted in football.
Why? There are four games left in the race for second, only one of which has to go Hull's way for you to clinch second. Is it really petty to hope that the crucial result comes in one of the other three games?
Don't think you're using the correct meaning of petty. It's petty to want Nigel Pearson to fail over us getting promoted. No matter how much you hate the guy, your club should come first surely? Stay out of it.
