I see the bbc are reporting that city have bid 13 million for agger, this is no way enough. For a start the do not appear to be paying the top four tax which apparently we still have to pay (unless they are valuing agger at 3mil) despite us not being in top four for the past three years.
But far more importantly my main worry is that if we lose agger others will follow, realistically agger goes, and caroll, how long before the likes of suarez jumps seing all our quality being sold. Will skrtel then stay? The heart will be ripped from our defence, we do not have enough quality cover at centre half as is without losing our best. This decision could nail us into mid table mediocrity for a number of years and i for one am very very worried.

I hate this time of year, i hope you are right ben4fowler. I really can us letting him go if the price gets up to 15mil or it will be an undisclosed fee so we dont start an uprising. My head gonna impload, season must start now !!!!!! And the window shut!!!!!

£30m would be a more realistic price for one of the best defenders in the world.

If City come up with that sort of money then it may be hard to turn down, At £13M there is no chance of a deal.

I'd say Agger would fetch less that £30 million due to his propensity for injury, but certainly >£20m. Still a massive player for us, though, and we shouldn't let him go unless he wants to leave. We could cope with his loss, but hopefully won't have to. I can't see him leaving TBH.

£13m? It's way below his value and he's expressed his desire to stay.

... So he'll probably be sold for £9m in a couple of weeks time.

Heard them going on about this on talkshite this morn...Darren Lewis said its practically a done deal...the same Darren Lewis who said AVB was 99.9% getting the Liverpool job and the owners had even given him permission to speak to potential signings in South America <doh>

At 13mill it's a definite no no...double that and would we resist for a guy who is injury prone. Love him to stay but if we got a ridiculous amount he could be replaced. Let's hope it doesn't come to that though.

But thirty million reflects the fact that he is one of our best defenders, and we don't want to lose him. If City want him badly enough, they can cough up, if not they can fook off.

At least armed with £30M we could go out and try and replace him.

If they insist I suppose we could take £15 plus Lescott and De Jong....

Intrestingly he and Aqua where not involved in the Spurs friendly......
I had a feeling something like this was on the way, as I intimated on the pre-season thread when the squad was announced for the Spurs game.
Now how do I change my name to the Oracle

Oi, I do the predictions on these boards.

If they offer £20m, let's sell. We have Kelly and Coates who can both do a job there, £20 for someone who is injured a lot is fine by me

1. nobody but nobody is indispensable.

2. agger is calss but injury prone.

3. 13mil is a joke cos if it's city the bid must be twice that.

4. LFC would be poor without agger, i'd rather sell skertl as aggers the guy to go win headers and attack the ball while skertl is a sweeper upper.
