Couldn't see how many where in the top tier, but the 1882 crowd gave their usual sterling support,
    whatever the actual attendance was.

The attendance was just under 900.

I know times have changed, but it's only 10 years ago when we played Everton at the Lane in a FA Youth cup semi and the attendance was over 6000.

"The attendance was just under 900."

Poor publicity by the club (in advance) ??
The Underhill game seemed to have been more widely known about way in advance
(even allowing for the Goon factor) .

On a side note, Spurcat :

Do you think Ceballos is ready to step up into the senior squad ??

Same, I nicked that photo from Twitter after Blue and White mentioned it, I was only 2 blocks away but didn't look up until it was fading. We needed a Robbo goalkick really to get everyone looking up.

As Spurcat said, it was a shame about the crowd but I kind of expected it as I went on the site earlier to see if they'd opened the upper tier for the game but everywhere apart from the middle 2 blocks was still green. I was with another Spurs fan and a Brentford fan and we all admired the 1882 lot singing non stop all game, including a rendition of "oh when the Spurs" that lasted about 10 minutes, so full credit to them they made a big noise.

I keep saying to you-come and join the 1882 crowd-it's free fun, maybe a little sore throat but well worth it.

SAF has called on Man U fans to support the u21's tonight-maybe AVB needed to encourage more fans to turn up.

Also the club should put on some free transport for the final.

When new WHL is built, I do hope the club is flexible enough on seating so the 1882 crowd and
    kindred spirits can congregate together.

I have thought for some time that he's worth a call up. If he progresses at the beginning of next season at the same rate he has this, then he surely can't be ignored.

He's a bit unpredictable when he goes off on a mazy dribble, in fact sometimes I am not sure even he knows where he's going with the ball. A bit more fine tuning wouldn't do any harm, but he has had a very good season.

We don't want seating-we want to stand.

This was undoubtedly a factor. Levy reckons it's cheaper to play these games at the Orient, then when we do have one at WHL, the club fails to start publicising it until less than a week beforehand. That we didn't know last nights opponents until the middle of last week shouldn't have stopped us advertising it.

Furthermore, when the opposition have to travel more than 4 hours, competition rules allow to them stay overnight and the home team pay a percentage of their costs. Even more reason to get more people through the gate.

The club publicity/info is an utter embarrassment.
The fact I have to ping you to ensure I get accurate KO times for Academy, and the
shambles of one Nextgen home game in 2011, is testament to that.

True. New WHL with a standing section would be superb.
But after Hillsborough, any such proposal for big stadia will get slapped down.

Not after Hillsborough, after the Thatcher government skim-read the Taylor Report and decided standing should be banned, even though that isn't what the report said.

I don't understand why the club don't see this as an opportunity to get some numbers through the doors, watching a team wearing Spurs colours.
If they promote it properly, then this is one way to get in younger fans and older fans, both of whmo might not be able to afford to go as often as they'd like to.
Get dads and their kids involved in the club, especially if they embrace the 1882 philosophy, and you've guaranteed future support and a vocal one at that.

Surely some of the more cynical businessmen at the club have to see this as a way of 'growing the brand' or opening a new revenue stream or whatever crap they come up with?
Watching football is a habit, just like winning games is. We need to try to make both a big part of the club's future.

There were over 24000 at Carrow Road last week for the 1st leg of the FA Youth Cup final. I would love to know what initiatives Norwich did to encourage such a fantastic attendance.

    PNP :

The club are an utter shambles when it comes to providing timely/accessible/accurate info
    for the Academy games.
