Livermore playing centre-half and we kept a clean sheet? Interesting.
Good to see him getting some sort of run out and staying fairly sharp, should we need him.

Strange shape to the side, if that's accurate. I'd have thought it'd be more of a 4-3-3, looking at the personnel.

Saw the 2nd half. Not much to write home about.
Liverpool deserved a draw (maybe a win if their shot selection had been better) .

I am unable to pass comment on this game as I was scouting at another under 21 match (Reading v Norwich), but it's a big win for us as I believe this Pool side were unbeaten in 14 games.

Regarding Livermore being at CB, I think the coaches feel it's important to keep the likes of Luongo, Parrett, Carroll and Ceballos playing, and so as to also keeping Jake ticking over they slot him in where they know he can do a job - he has played there before.

I don't mean this as the insult that it's going to sound like, but I think that Livermore could end up being our Phil Neville, as he was at Man Utd.
A hardworking, professional utility player that can come into the side to do a job in various positions or deal with a specific problem.
Jones seems to have become the latest version for Ferguson.

How was Reading v Norwich, SC? Worth the delightful weather?

He played a few minutes at right back for us last season too. He could definitely benefit from being able to cover a few positions if he's to be kept on in our first team but credit to him he's not had many chances this season and still did well when he came on, on Saturday.

It will be interesting to see this weeks team selections as there is the Europa game on Thursday evening and this under 21 side are playing Manchester United on Friday lunchtime.

Yes, Spurs probably went for a 4-3-3 formation, as we did against West Ham in the 3-2 U21 win last week.

Oh, and Parrett looked in lean physical shape today.
When I saw him late 2011 he looked Gazza rotund.

Sherwood's preference is to go 4-3-3, but of course he did have Pritchard and Townsend available to him. Now they've gone, I see that as a 4-4-2 today, maybe RDBD can confirm ??

He's been playing better this season than at any time during the past 3 years.

Not 4-4-2 in the second half.
Just about a 4-3-3 (Carroll/Parrett/Luongo doing the MF spadework) .
Though Cabellos looked like he thought he was playing RW in 4-4-2.

I assume all these home games are cos the scheduled away games would
have been called off due to the weather ??

"Manchester United on Friday of this week"

    Is that a 12:30pm KO again ??

There have been two changes to the schedule from the original fixture list, both at the request of our opponents. So, the fixtures against both Liverpool and Manchester United have been reversed. This has meant we start with 6 home games, then 1 away game, then our final home game, leaving us with 6 away games to finish !!

Friday's game is a mid-day kick off. Yesterday's was due to be a mid-day start, but because the game was switched to the 1st team pitch at the last minute due to the snow, this delayed the kick off until 12.30.

    Spurs 3-1 Man Utd.

A bit of confusion as to goals 1/2, but Obika definitely scored #3.
4-3-3 formation (Kane/Obika + Cabellos roaming across the pitch) .

Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Man Utd. Obika (2), Ceballos.
Spurs team: Miles, Byrne, Fryers, Livermore, Naughton, Luongo, Parrett, Carroll, Obika, Kane, Ceballos.
Livermore and Naughton played at centre-half, apparently. Looks like another 4-3-3 line-up, to me.

Good start to the group. 3 wins and a draw.
