Trixter. It's laughable how you can say that Allardyce has the same backing now as he had last season. Maybe you are happy with survival for a few years but there is no way 75% were happy with him last season. Wembley seems to have changed the opinion but for most of the season KUMB referred to us in terms of 'If we can't beat a team like Southampton' and echos of 'little club'. And my comment on you not filling the stadium wasn't in reference to West Ham not being able to. It was in reference to 54k turning up to watch hoofball. Anyways. You read what you like and WUM all you like. Saints have had spells where tactical workmanlike performances were acceptable because of league position. Hoddle was so defensive and Strachan's side was pure workhorse. Chris Marsden the epitome of that side. Wouldn't swap that for the way we play now though. In a way it's like having the beautiful tradition we had 'pre premiership' (i.e. late 70s to mid 80s. Have to be honest about the period inbetween being a mixture of all hands to the deck or parking the bus. We were never as boring and ****e as an Allardyce team though. And yes he is there for one reason only. because your owners think he can keep you in the Prem. how long for? until they find someone that can move you upward. Hammers fans aren't going to accept Stoke football in return for mid table safety for very long and Allardyce will not be given the money Pulis has had to build a 'better' hoofball team. If he isn't out this summer then I feel sorry for you lot after all your traditions
Is he proven in the premier league? Did he manage a ladies football team? Does he need a translator? All perfectly valid reasons to question the suitability of his appointment as manager of a club battling relegation.
Why does it matter that he earned some experience managing a womans team...not common, but I don't see how that makes him ineligible to manage a mens team. Unless I've missed something, Espanyol are a mens team. Yes, he doesn't have PL experience, but that is true of all managers at one point. Can't argue about the translator, but he mainly uses him for interviews. Why does this bother you?
