Yes it was me Dai - I posted this a few posts above yours on this thread. Was told by two separate unconnected people exactly the same thing at the time - neither was directly involved at City but had heard it at Fulham (of all places) because they were after him as well. Reckon we cocked it up after getting Caulker from them and waited too long for Capoue instead.

apologies if wrong but it was a gamble to sign him, that would have meant leaving whitts out as you cant have 2 pedestrian centre mids like that in the middle 3.

he's gone through a decent spell of form no doubt, but i dont think he would have made much difference to our fortunes.

if it was a choice between spending big on a centre back in caulker or huddlestone i'd take caulker every time, an inspired signing by malky and one with far greater potential than huddlestone.

I hope so Phil, going up to Tottenham on Sunday as tickets available to anyone who wants them. Anyone else travelling individually i will be staying in the Metropole Hilton on Edgeware road, drinks on me. Need something to cheer us up.
 
Been to the Lane a few times, last one when we played them in the old 2nd division.

Alas unable to travel on Sunday, have a good time.
 
Not going as away for the weekend.

Having been a Spurs fan since 1961 and City supporter (there is a difference) since 1968 I hate it when the sides play each other. No matter what sport I watch I always have to be on one side or the other - can't be neutral - but this game is the exception.

Went to the League Cup game in 2003 but was entertained in hospitality so avoided all the trouble outisde the ground. We could see all the blue lights flashing and police running everywhere but not the fisticuffs themselves. Unfortunately our hospitality was in the Park Lane Stand and our seats were amongst the more vocal Spurs fans. It was tough keeping quiet. <whistle>

However, this weekend we need the points more than them as I think they have blown their chances of top 4 so "Come on City" as a win there would be a huge morale booster and set us up nicely to turn over Fulham.

Well if it's any consolation, Norwich got 3 points off them on the weekend!....................<ok>
 
We played well on Sunday and for once got what we deserved.If you can get something at WHL then good luck to you but I have to say that looking at the table all six teams at the bottom changed the manager and the only one to benefit from that seem to be Palace.The big thing Cardiff (And indeed all trhe others) have in their favour is not being cast adrift.This time last season the bottom two were gone,this year two consecutive wins and the whole picture changes,it's just getting them.

Correct.

Some posters on here are clutching at the fact that you've got a horrendous last four fixtures - Liverpool. Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal - but I think Norwich have played some very good stuff this season and been very unlucky. You should have buried us at the CCS a few weeks back (and Fer's goal at your place should have stood <laugh>)

Still think it's all to play for and as you say, a couple of good results can change the table standings considerably - unfortunately, we just don't seem to have a clue where they're going to come from.

Our three home games against Fulham, Stoke and Palace will decide our season. Anything less than maximium points from those could see us sink out of contention.
 
Fer was a little bit naughty.Yes by the rules of the game it should have stood but we would certainly have let you score a walk in.Interesting if one or the other of us gets relegated by virtue of one goal scored.Unlikely,but it could happen.
 
FOr all the talk of the huge number of opportunities we created against Hull, we still didn't look like scoring. When FC put his header over the bar, I thought , it's not going to happen, and that was earlyish. I reckon we have to start with Daehli but we can't have him stuck out wide. He needs to be stuck in the hole... but 442... there's no hole.
 
I don't believe in season long runs of luck but in individual matches it can certainly happen.In both our games against you the run of the ball went against us,the same as it did early on for you against Hull.A Spurs fan was moaning that on Sunday all the 50/50 balls fell for us and I commented to my son that we were getting the rub of the green.But then Ruddy made a couple of great saves and I have to say that against us Marshall was brilliant in both games.The goalie is part of the team after all,so that doesn't count as luck.

I got invited by some pals who are Spurs season ticket holder to your league cup game in 2007 (4-0 to Spurs) and there was blue light problems at the end of that one as well - is there any history between the two clubs or is it just mindless yobs?
 
In 2003 it was the Spurs mob who started it, trouble is the Bill take the away fans through a pretty built up area with lots of side streets, the coppers formed a line across the said streets and the Spurs lot just hurled what they could at Us and the Coppers, from memory the coppers had a guts full and stood aside the rest as they say is history and alot of sore heads for the Spurs numpties.

Phil - that's a very simplistic approach even from a simpleton like you. Anyone can beat anyone else on the day in this division - the fact that Norwich beat them last weekend means bugger all to us and is no pointer toward what will happen next Sunday.

Just to explain it to you, it goes like this. Norwich were in 17th spot on 25 points and just 3 points above us last Sunday - I wanted it to stay that way and nice 10-0 thrashing for them would have put their goal difference on a par with ours.

For your further information, Tottenham were in 5th spot and I have no interest whatsoever if they finish there, top or in mid table - get it son!!.......<laugh>
 
What is in your favour is that Spurs are one of few teams with a better record away from home.I think if you were to follow our result then Sherwood might get his cards the way things are this season in the Prem.
 
I think you Cardiff fans can finally appreciate how massive a gap 7 points really is. All them years of taking the piss calling us boring boring swansea... How much would you give right now to play a style that will keep you up then help you push on?
Yes we were boring first season, since then we've won a cup and played in Europe. You may not admit it but you guys would kill to have our seasons under your belt. You're going down and you know it.
