Answer the question instead of avoiding it like a coward, please. I didn't ask if you cared, I asked if thought it was alright to do, being only a name and all.
What happened when Hull FC changed there name to Hull Sharks many years ago how did that happen because not been a rugby fan i didn't take a lot of notice so was it like ours the owners wanted a change they applied to the rugby league and it was granted the fans were in uproar they formed against groups sang at games ect or was it totally different circumstances and nothing like our predicament because to me it seem to happen so quickly they changed name and are back as Hull fc now
it was up to them , it was a company .. it was moved .. therefore fair enough .. I really couldnt give two ****s about heritage etc ... ffs my main team has had 3 name since 88 but are still in the elite league (I played for them under two names) .. its about business .. sport and entertainment ... heritage means **** all
If the club changes it's name & increases income what is to say the increase would not of happened if we'd maintained our current name? You would only consider re-branding if your current brand is failing. Hull City AFC are currently in, potentially, their best ever season. Our income, this season, as Hull City AFC is far greater than any other season. Their is no evidence to suggest Hull City AFC is failing as a brand, it is actually succeeding. There is no evidence to suggest Hull Tigers would succeed. What is failing is the marketing strategy of the current directors. They need to employ somebody who specialises in football marketing & keep AA away from the press. There is no need to rename the club, what needs to be changed are the principles & values of the people who run the club. AA is putting the club's future at risk because his immature attitude continues to put off potential investors.
There is a difference between the company name and the team name. Hull FC have had no end of changes of company name but remain Hull FC. The same with a lot of football clubs, many of them bigger than City.Your point is totally stupid. Has anyone else changed the name of a club on the basis they have invested money into it so they can do what they want?
We are Hull that won't change????? who said so? when he who must be obeyed finds that Hull Tigers makes no difference (ie it's success on the field that really counts) who's to say he might want to change it to Yorkshire Whippets or something similar? he is unpredictable enough - and it would make sense as it capitalises on the success of the Tour de France Grand Depart
No its not. MK Dons used to be called Wimbledon. They applied to change the name and it was agreed. It didn't change history when they moved because history doesn't change. MK Dons won the FA Cup. Its only a name and a ground. Just because you disagree and MK Dons gave up their right to claim Wimbledon's history doesn't affect the basic principle. I'll decide whether Hull Tigers is my team, just like you did. I'll decide if I stay and fight to have the name changed back to Hull City. Or I may participate in the creation of AFC Hull City. AFC Wimbledon and FC United of Manchester have shown it is possible to do so successfully, along with North Ferriby United.
Melton was used to try to force the councils arm. That's not been mentioned for a long time. I would want us to stay in Hull obviously and would be against a move to Melton. Having said that the difference between Hull to Melton and London to Milton Keynes is massive.
Erm... so what? The Club is still moving away from it's home, it doesn't matter how far away it goes.
I agree if theoretically we move out of hull it would be wrong. At this current time we are not moving. I don't think we will be moving anytime soon either.
I'd be annoyed but yes it would still be my team. I cant turn off the attachment i have to it. It might prevent me from going to games but i'll cross that problem if and when it does.
Grow up and get in the real world. Successful people don't always play fair. He tried, he failed we move on.
Probably not. I have said i think what happened at Wimbledon was wrong. But it is not the same as our situation.
