Rather than just looking at personnel, for me we need to start looking to get a consistent first team in place who can begin to gel and play with knowledge of those around them. In recent years we have had an unsettled back four, starting with the constantly injured Mensah, and long term injuries to Turner and Brown, having Bardsley cover left back because we didn't have a suitable one until Rose arrived. Our Goalkeepers couldn't string a decent run of games without fracturing something and our forward line has had multiple injuries to Frazier and temporary solutions in Bendtner, Welbeck, Gyan, Bent, Jones, Cisse etc who couldn't give us more than one full season. Then our midfield is constantly being forced into changes due to Meyler/Tainio injuries, Cattermole's stupid suspensions and Colback/Gardner having to fill in at full back positions. We need something to settle before we can truly get the best out of our current squad.
Settle your right we have been waiting for some stability for years what with signings not fitting in and player wanting to leave when are we going to get a settled team ..?......?............?.
