Agree on the new players. I like the look of Colback, Cabella and Janmaat. They will take time but will get there but the rest... I'll need convincing.

I have a policy of never booing the team whilst they are on the pitch.

For 90 minutes I back them, that's how it should be and I vent on full time if I'm not happy. I've always done this and don't buy into the believe that booing the team can eliver anything other than a lesser performance from the players. It also doesn't do our image any good if, say in January we go for a player and he's seen our fans boo the crap out of recent acquisitions for a misplaced pass etc....

As a fan base some say we are a needy bunch but I disagree. All we want is a group of decent players who are organised well by a manager we respect and give their all.... win lose or draw. My issue with Pardew is that as well as being tactically inept, he (along with Ashley) drags our club through the ****e with antics like the headbutt and the abuse he gives far more accomplished managers like Pellegrini.

Hopefully one day we can have a manager and club heirachy we are all proud of.

I don't know Bob. Some of us were saying a month ago that there were some serious issues that needed addressing, raising concerns about our squad depth and quality. Myself and MrTiote called this a month back. It just happened to get worse on deadline day as we didn't make any of the 2 priority signings. Indeed we loaned out a centre back without getting a replacement (something Pardew said wouldn't happen). Fair enough mbiwa is not very good but I see little to be gained from a loan. If we get injuries he'd have been useful to have surely. HBA I can live with as young Aarons has broken through.

I maybe don't buy into the whole we are relegation certainties, but I do think we look a lower half of the table side which means if things don't go your way or you get a spate of injuries, you could well be staring down the barrel.

It looks to me we've down a bit of late window penny pinching again. There is potential. However there is a weird obsession with not having playes with PL experience which makes no sense, and the two key signings we have needed all summer, striker and centre half have not arrived. Why? You have to pay to get a top class spine.

To be fair it didn't help us. Whether that was HBA, his agent or just a lack of early interest, who knows. Those wages off the books may have helped us though.

Ah who am I kidding, we still wouldn't have spent!
