Eng have started well, 70-odd for 4 after electing to bat.

Hopeless. I naively thought these embarrassing showings in global limited overs tournaments were behind us

I blame the ECB and their insistence on carrying on with The Hundred.

****e format that does nothing but harm the 50 over game in England. Does nothing to bring on test players either.

    Just bin it off FFS.

That was simply horrific from start to finish, bloody awful, dont think any of them can come out of this with credit. The bowling and batting have been completely fkn hopeless not helped by the tactics employed. Shyte !!!

No Eng player under 30 in today's team, expect a few retirements after this WC. I wonder who'll go to WIndies in December?

It's laughable how under the thumb the players are as well (due to £££ obviously) Root the other day almost hit the nail on the head about not playing enough 50 over cricket, then started wittering on about playing less T20, another recognised format around the world, with a world cup next year, which we will again "defend"....

Do you know what I love about watching the WC... its not the cricket per se, its the absolute joy and happiness of the supporters who in the main wont have two pennies to rub together...

Mm not sure about that like. Lots of working white collar middle class in India nowadays. Still many in abject poverty of course but they won't be going to cricket matches

India 30-odd for 2, Kohli out for 0. Wouldn't it be just like Eng to go and beat them now!
