Time to relive some of it... https://www.skysports.com/efl/championship/video/12854476/west-brom-2-2-qpr-championship-highlights Defo handball for their first...and a clamity by their keeper for our second
Interesting comments by WBA fans on their team today (11th in the league) Tomos: "We're actual bottle jobs." Ash: "Wouldn’t miss any of this squad if they got sold tomorrow. No leadership or fight in any of them." James Hamilton: "These players think they are much better then they actually are." heard this before?
Gritty performance. Better than seen for a long while. Well done to the 1,000 plus QPR fans for standing by the team and giving great vocal support today.
poor babies "The fans were sensational, they really got us home. They need to know we had an 11-hour day on Saturday. The players weren't at home with their families. I got them in, working and talking, telling each other what it's going to take to stay in this league. All I want from them is to give everything.
Just back from Stockholm. Put the Rs on just as Richards headed wide, then Dozzy blasted one the wrong side of the post. I thought that my timing was wrong and I was watching the highlights. We could/should have done a 1967 on them. Norrköping won 3-0 (!!!) and I am ****ing knackared, what a mental couple of hours. Earlier someone mentioned about players pretending to be injured when the team is under pressure. In Stockholm, on about 33 mins (unbelievably still 0-0), Norrköping is really slautering them, so as the keeper is about to take a goal kick (it was a ****ing corner), their captain runs from the half way line and whispers in his ear. He then goes down "injured" while the captain runs to his trainer, calling for the team to come over for a teamtalk. Everyone not from Stockholm can see what's happened (The refs and officials are Stroud on a bad day). Didn't work though, despite his life-threatening pain, he kicked the ball to the halfway line, we won the header, our left winger got the ball, cut inside and served up a lovely pass for our captain to smack the ball past him. I wonder why the whole team celebrated the goal in their six-yard box? Nice day!
****ing spoilt fannies - I regularly do 12-15 hour days, and spend many nights away from home for a pittance compared to these pampered ****s....they need to know the commitment our fans put in week in, week out just turning up to watch some of the drivel that's been played recently. With the way performances have been lately I'd be disappointed if they weren't putting in extra time at the training ground. Unnecessary words from Ainsworth IMO
I was very close to switching off when the 2nd went in. I walked when PNE scored their 2nd on Friday. So glad I didn’t. Goals change games and there was a totally different attitude after Dykes scored. A good team effort and so good to see us getting bodies into the box. The only caveat I would have is I think West Brom have a toxic changing room like Watford. We have to have another decent performance next Saturday to show that the players really do want to fight to stay in this division
Went today as a neutral. Said to my mate, on about the 80th minute, if QPR showed a little more belief, they'd go on and win this. Could have nicked it at the end. Your fans were decent too.
QPR boss Gareth Ainsworth told BBC Radio London: "We'll win the next one. Friday was our lowest ebb. If we play like today, we'll get enough points to stay in this Championship. Let me sort things out and make a real assault on this league next year - I can't wait." Nothing like getting carried away with taking a point from the last 97. Jesus. Learn to keep your mouth shut
It was 0-0 when I popped to the shop on eight minutes, the I got a flurry of text messages from my daughter who was in her bedroom upstairs. 2-0 look away now, ' I've just popped to the the shops.' 14 mins in 2-0 ... Shocking! I just got back and I was watching on the red button and had the other tv on the Amazon Firestick which was a minute behind. Dykes scored a great header and we pulled one back. I hear a baby elephant thundering down the stairs ... Dad watch what happens ... I pretend I don't know ... We watch together as Dykes pulls one back, terrific header. Second half and I'm thinking please don't let them get an early third and ruin the hope. I was just about to go out into the garden to have a tidy up when my daughter said ' Dad where are you going?' Watch! We did and Chris Martin equalised. From that point on I thought we would get the winner, It wasn't to be, despite the two close chances. A little more belief and we could've taken all three points. But given what's gone before, coming from two nil down to this was a great result.. But we must back this up v Coventry, otherwise it was all in vain.
Another match missed for me, was thinking a later kick-off time, but of course Easter Monday, early start, like the Good Friday game rather than Saturday. Seems like another Reading match that we almost won despite being 2-0 down. Can't believe our ability to concede pairs of early goals, but very happy at the result, perhaps this is the start of our road back to Championship survival.
After another poor start, the R’s showed fight and spirit, which we have not seen for quite a long time, to get a well deserved draw, and were in with a good shout for a win. A very welcome point and let’s hope that we can continue to build on this attitude next Saturday.
Too right about Coventry. Went to their place and it was men against boys! Beating them will take some doing.
The performance, even if we'd lost 3-2 was very encouraging. So much better. Regarding the fans, I wasn't bowled over with the booing, wanting Les out, YNFTWTH when their 2nd goal went in. A 3rd WBA goal and it could have turned nasty. Those that stuck with the team were great. I just sat in silence until we got the 1st as I was numb.
