#mufc team to take on West Brom: De Gea; Rafael, Jones, Smalling, Evra; Carrick, Fellaini; Mata, Rooney, Januzaj; van Persie.
Good win for you but have to laugh at the BBC....... It would take a huge meltdown from the teams above you slim isn't the word, surely it's Europa league that you are fighting for or do you agree that there is a slim chance and you are still looking at top 4?
Very slim! Still, it's not impossible and that side that started the game is now the first choice first team so long may that continue. It's up to Moyes now. He can try to end the season well or he can **** about with the side still. I hope he sees sense.
While it's mathematically possible we'll still have a slim chance. The BBC are hardly going to write "Manchester United win a game of next to no significance for their season". Nobody thinks it'll actually happen (expect maybe matth). All we can really aim to do now is to get a settled side and try to put together a decent run to bring momentum into next season. We played reasonable well today and finally got our best line-up on the pitch. Though we've got to admit that West Brom were awful.
It shows some dippers are still worried, by how upset Luvgonzo is getting, that the BBC dared to mention we have a slim chance of top 4. It's a slim chance, no one is getting carried away that we're gonna pull it off, but it's certainly a slim chance if we could get on a good run. The bookies make it 10/1 and those odds seem about right to me. Anyways on to the game, I thought we played reasonably ok, though we've actually done quite well away from home against sides in the bottom half this season, so I'm not getting to carried away, if we can beat Liverpool then I might start to believe we've turned a corner. The midfield was good in particular today, Fellaini and Carrick looked a good partnership. I hope he sticks with that pair, as I think if we can get Fellaini's confidence back then he will become a big asset. He adds some much needed steel to our midfield, and he's a real handful in the air from set pieces
of course united have a chance, they have to win all but one game of those left to have a chance though, and that one game you can afford to not win cannot be v Liverpool.
What I mean is that it would be more realistic if the media were talking about cementing European football other than plugging something that is almost out of reach, I'll always be worried about you lot as over the years you've comeback from impossible positions but it doesn't look like that will be the case this season at least.
Having won today, Man Utd are eleven points behind with ten games remaining. If Man Utd win all remaining ten games (including us and Man City), Liverpool need to score at an average of 1.9pts per game. We're currently averaging 2.1pts per game and haven't been below 2pts per game all season. Of course, you also need to catch Tottenham that are sat five points ahead of you too. Its not impossible but you winning all ten is unlikely, as is us imploding to that level. For both to happen...?
